I just watched this commentary by Hurwitz and found some of his observations interesting. I do find his voice somewhat grating, but it is what it is, and I do appreciate his calling-out a lack of attention to home listeners by the production engineers. It seems that the broader music industry believes music is only listened to via ear-pods, by people in noisy environments trying to drown out their surroundings. Thus, we get the loudness war and overly compressed garage we are currently getting, which goes beyond what he was addressing (I think).
