I am using the JetAudio app for music on the go meaning on my phone.

I love it but wonder if you can recommend an even better one.

My dream would be to have a Parametric Eq with 6-10 flexible bands where I can name and store presets.

The only thing I miss in JetAudio is that the eq has fixed bands and you can’t rename them.

As to the other criteria, I don’t care about HiRes. Like at all.
I have tried a few players over the years but JetAudio player comes the closest to what want till now

Would appreciate any information

Check out Neutron Music Player.

The interface design only a mother could love, but it does have fully configurable Parametric EQ.
You had me at „Parametric“! am going to check it out asap!

Thank you!

Purchased after 1 minute of reading cause the list of features is so increeeeeeeddiiiblyyyyy loooooooooongggggggg zzzzzzz :-)
Installed and started taking a look. Jesus Christ on a pike. I did not know this app exists. Really impressive and overwhelming at the same time.

It goes so deep with the settings that i had to take a break cause my Brain got fried. I also understand your comment about the interface hahahaha.
A little bit like some super smart genius that lives in a bunker beneath the earth and did not spend more than 1 second of thought
on making it in a way that somebody except them could understand .
Still, impressive amounts of flexibility. This is an app for a long flight.
You could easily fill 10 hours in an airplane just learning the possibilities of the Equalizer.

For me this wins Geek App of the Year hands down.

Thank you for bringing it to my attention

I discovered another app. I think i lost some episodes in the development cause i cant remember seeing many of them last time i checked the app store.
I think it is closer to what i am looking for as the Neutron is a bit too much for this time in my life.
Don`t know if i can dive in that deep for an app i just want for casual listening here and then after all.

It is called KaiserTone. I think its Japanese.
I don`t like the workflow it takes to create a Playlist but the Eq is much more accessible and the Interface much more friendly for the eyes (at least mine)
For now it is winning against Neutron for my usage scenario

Damn that was a fast 20 euros for two apps of which i will be using only one in the end :)

Does Apple have App refunds?

On Android, you can uninstall an App withing (IIRC) 4h of purchase and you get an instant refund, no questions asked.

Interesting. I thought its not possible on IOS but now researched it a bit and found a way where you can at least open a Ticket for Refund.
Will let you know if it worked. Thank you for the tip!

Ok unfortunately discovered that the KaiserTone has some what seems to be Data transmission issues meaning yesternight
when i lay down to sleep it was very quiet and was listening to a song i know inside out at low volume and heard something that at first i thought where transients i`ve never heard and then realized it is a very ever so slight Artefakt happening. No matter what i tried with the settings, resolution quality, eq etc etc i could not solve it.
Wrote them a support mail but for now that a disappointment …..

If you can take a little time to get used to Neutron, I think it really is the best sounding, best featured, and consistently updated and maintained, player for iOS. The developer is even active on this very forum. And he makes a really solid little portable DAC/Amp with EQ built in, and crossfeed, avoiding the need to even have an EQ-able music player. It’s called the Neutron v1. Also, the Qudelix 5k is a similar (and less expensive) product that also has Bluetooth, parametric EQ, crossfeed, and a great app that is also well maintained and updated regularly. Both devices essentially give you systemwide parametric EQ for iOS.

Thank you for chipping in.

I tried the Neutron but find the GUI much too much information for my usage. It is impressive and all the whistles but for me personally simply too much of everything.
After trying a handful of players i ended up with EQUALIZER PRO. It is almost perfect for my wishes.
Regarding Sound Quality, i cannot say i hear a sound quality difference between (software) players. The only difference is that some have a more flexible tunig ability, like better Eq structure. But of course i am only speaking for myself.

To the Physical-Hardwear playersThe Neutron V1 player was under my contenders but i ended up getting a Qudelix 5K cause i found it for a superb price and it had such a great review here and many positive comments.

Lets see. It will arrive next week
Exciting times! I feel like when i bought new „Sony Mega Bass“ or what they were called headphones in the early 90s where i needed to change the foam every felt 6 months hahaha
