This afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting Harry Yeung from First Audio, firstly what a really nice guy, he kindly bought the prototype of his new three way design the Cadentia, wow they are spectacular.
Harry has posted photos of the prototypes on his Klippel and some measurements which are as you would expect superb.
They sounded simply wonderful, and he was kind enough to leave a pair of his Fidelia for me to try, just connected them up and I can see why they are amongst Erin’s favourite loudspeakers.

The Fidelia are super cute, shorter than the AsciLAB F6B 12’compared to 16” and about the same depth.

Wow, you are awash in some great speakers. If I ever get across the pond I'll have to come see you after paying devotions at Abbey Road.

Before you ask they are both super designs and a prospective purchaser would have to determine their own preference.

Harry it was my pleasure, I want no, I need the first pair of Cadentia!
Seriously I am really impressed the small ones are great and the three ways phenomenal.
As we discussed if more listeners understood loudspeaker measurements they could then choose transparent designs.
Rather than the poor yet heavily marketed units which dominate the market at the moment.
I wish you every success.

I am delighted that Harry ( Audio First Designs) has agreed to allow Purité Audio to stock his new Cadentia 3.
First units should be here very soon.
Harry bought around the prototype Cadentia late last year and it was hugely impressive.

On their way soonish, I was immediately impressed when Harry ( Mr Audio First ) brought the prototype Cadentia around, it was dynamic and transparent, and as my aim is to gather the Universe’s finest audio components under one roof…

‘Audio First ‘ page added to the Purité Audio site, I will add my listening impressions when the cadentia 3’s arrive.
The prototype units harry brought around were extremely impressive.

These speakers remind me of a classic British design ala Harbeth or maybe what they could resemble.
FWIW, I owned Harbeth MkIIs in 1979 & later P3-ESRs w\subs.
In their era those were good speakers

I'll be interested in customer acceptance compared to the active, DSP, side-driver speakers etc.

Whether one likes the appearance is purely subjective but in the Cadentia’s form follows function.
Those BBC designs were groundbreaking in their day, hard to imagine the BBC funding a loudspeaker design department today!

Harry has managed to find for us a pair of Cadentia 3 in rosewood!
Standard veneer is light oak, but I have always been partial to a bit of Rosewood, photographs as soon as they arrive.

Boring Cherry for me please... Are there grilles as an option, to prevent dust ingress as much as anything else?

I kind of dismissed these but read up the Erin review and interest was piqued. I praise your dedication in trying so hard to educate UK audio peeps in what makes a good speaker rather than a magazine recommended one with often substandard or even dire performance (if you see what I mean).

Hope you enjoy them, selling as well as listening :)

P.S. Plywood these days has been criticised for having random voids inside the laminates, one such hinted at or shown in the back corner of the prototype smaller model I think - maybe different grades are available so it may not be an issue?. MDF may be boring on many levels and care needed to cut and finish it, but it does seem more consistent I believe.

Harry thoughtfully sent me some photographs of the Rosewood veneer next to the standard light Oak.
My Cadentia 3's in Rosewood will arrive soon!
