"The onboard DAC stage, meanwhile, doesn't raise the digital bar with its rather disappointing 75.5dB A-wtd S/N (re. 0dBFs at 0dBV output) and low-level resolution that's limited by noise to around 90dB where it's already some 5dB adrift. Jitter is moderate at 570psec (48kHz/24-bit) and distortion [see Graph 2] is as low as 0.0005-0.0025% at –10dBFs (20Hz-20kHz). The digital filter is a standard linear phase type. PM"
Thay say the dac is not good?
If I plug extranl dac with rca it will be better?
Thanks for the help

If their specs are to be believed the line in has a 106dB A-weighted SNR... so it's quite likely. However, considering the internal DAC is that poor I'd want to see a measurement to confirm. I wouldn't think it would be any worse however, and likely at least somewhat better.

" The built-in DAC did not match the quality of the reference converter, although the sound was correct. "
This one is subjective, so it has no value.

However, results from Hi-Fi are from measurements, so a bit more worrying.

Sadly, it's hard to tell if another DAC would improve anything, since we need to know the performance of the amplifier itself. If it is as poor, then another DAC would be pointless.

I find this, if it's help

Well, this is not great... Based on Amir's standard (5W/4Ω 1Khz), 0.02% THD (+N?) would equals to 74dB SINAD.

I also find the power to be a touch weak for an amp of its size. But that's up to your needs.

I'm afraid you can't expect any audible improvements from another standalone DAC...
