Hi everyone,
I’ve been dealing with a persistent CPU issue using the Audient ID14 MKII on macOS (Silicon).
Whenever I open the ID software, the process coreaudiod spikes to around 30% CPU, and the ID app itself adds another 15%. Once I close the software, CPU usage immediately drops close to zero.
I contacted Audient support and followed all their suggested steps — including deleting audio preference files and resetting Audio MIDI Setup preferences — but the problem persists.
Support mentioned they hadn’t seen this issue before and asked whether I’m running macOS Tahoe or Sequoia, as the ID app should normally consume minimal resources since it’s just a GUI for the built-in mixer.
At this point, I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced similar high CPU usage with coreaudiod when running the ID software on recent macOS versions.
I'm using the following configuration:
- Laptop: MBA M1 2020
- OS: Sequoia 15.7.1
- ID App Version: 4.4.2
- Firmware (ID14 mk2): 1.1.2
- Talkback Input Source: None
Regards
