ATC speakers / Monitors

Know whats more annoying than a guy asking for data, people defending companies as if they are their friends. That and forum members patting each other on the back for not liking another user. Grow up guys.
Seriously. "Their head of sales has answered the question satisfactorily" is a [chef's kiss] response to a demand for measurements on a site devoted to measurements.

Maybe you misunderstood the specific question that Keith actually asked, and why the answer he got on that specific question can't be anything other than what he already got from the members in this thread?

Keith's specific question was: "Oh, what are their reasons for not publishing measurements?"
The answer to that specific question from any regular member here on ASR can only be: "You have already got that answered directly from their head of sales for that specific question, who has already explained to you their reasoning for not publishing measurements".

If Keith isn't satisfied, in one way or another, with the answer he got to this specific question directly from their head of sales, he must ask them again, as we (regular members on ASR) can only remind him of the answer he already received, and that with or without a "chef's kiss". :)

Genuinely could you just post a link that answer from Ben?
Thanks,
Keith

I never said you had asked Ben Lilly about it, but here is the latest response you got from their head of sales representative in the U.S., Brand Lunde, when you asked him for measurements for their subwoofers. He gave you a pretty straightforward answer on the reasoning behind their decision not to publish measurements, and I'm quite sure you have asked him about it a few times before that.

If you want an answer from Ben specifically, I suggest you send him an email asking him about it. Maybe you get a more satisfying answer from him, or maybe you can convince him to publish their measurements on their website, now that they have a Klippel NFS that should be able to give comparable measuring results to other manufacturers who use the same type of measuring device.

I would personally love to see their Klippel NFS measurements of all their loudspeakers.

Brad isn’t terribly well informed, really looking for something from ATC themselves?
Keith

Then ask them if you are not satisfied with the answer you already got. :)
As I said, send them an email or make a phone call, and maybe you'll get to speak with Ben Lilly directly about the matter. What answer do you expect when repeating the same question over and over on a forum like ASR, where there are no active ATC representatives?

Agree that's a very poor and uninformed response from him.

Having said that with so many truly poor loudspeakers sitting happily in the free-fire zone I really don't see the point in taking pot shots at ATC.

But If there is an answer, there is no reason for asking the same questions again and again and again, when the underlying intention for this questions isn't the wish for an answer itself but to throw pieces of mud again and again. Nevertheless, when the answer doesn't fit the own narrative, the questions change and the game will go one. The sting still sits deep and this kind of behaviour is so obvious.

Attacking something big, from a safe distance, the little attacker feels big himself

Whilst nothing like as extreme this has the same vibe as ever dcs rep threating to sue over a review that wasn't gushing enough.

No, that's not the only possible answer (in fact, it's not my answer at all) because salesmen cannot be trusted. Their livelihood depends on spinning their product positively under any and all circumstances.

Earlier in this thread we find another answer: because the measurements aren't really very good and if made public will make the speakers look bad in comparison to competitors in much lower price strata.

Whether this answer is plausible to you is your business, but from where I'm sitting it is without a doubt at least as valid as the paid shilling of a professional salesman.

Whether Keith like or dislike the answer given to him from the representative of ATC, that’s the answer he got. And that is the only answer that stands until he ask someone at ATC the same question again, and maybe get another answer.

It doesn’t help how many times he ask the same question here in this thread on ASR, as the answer he got from the representative of ATC still stands, whether you, me, or Keith dislike it or not.
Therefore, the only thing left for us to do is to remind Keith of the answer he already got from the representative of ATC. ;)

Why not to apply a different approach: go to a dealer and listen ATC speakers they have on display. Then, if you do not like them, you can return here and say that along with wining that you had to spend time listening since you could not know that they have really bad specs and thus not worth your time spend for audition. If you like then - open your wallet, purchase a pair and be happy customer.

Companies making $10k+ speakers and not even being able to share basic measurements is the actual trolling.
To be clear they are perfectly able to but choose not to. Very different. ATC is not a company that pays no attention to measured performance, as their investment in a Klippel Nearfield scanner demonstrates.

Yes, definitely super normal to put the burden of proof for a whole brand on a stranger on the internet

This is 2026. We may not know everything about speaker measurements, but we know a hell of a lot. ATC has the equipment and makes the measurements. How about they just share them with the potential consumers who are interested? Why the secrecy? What's there to hide? (I'll give you one guess...)

You can easily search for the measurements of pretty much any ATC loudspeaker model around the internet, and here in this thread. They are not hidden, and that way, are not forced to trust the manufacturer themselves when a third party source have done the measurements.
