Didn't know this:

"Rubin earned her BA degree in astronomy at Vassar College and attempted to enroll at Princeton but never received their graduate catalogue, as women there were not allowed in the graduate astronomy program until 1975.[4]"

Shameful.

May she rest in peace. You have done good Vera!

Speaking of women astronomers... my college physics T/A was Meg Urry.

As it happens, I ended up marrying one of my other T/As (Developmental Biology) -- several years after I was her student, though. No funny business.
