Hello!
My name is Diego, I am in Argentina.
I've wanted one of Astell daps for a while and I found someone who sold me a Kann Cube in excellent...aesthetic condition. Upon bringing it home and testing it out a bit, I quickly noticed that the device is almost in a brick state.
When you turn it on and enter the settings, it remains in a perpetual state of scanning media. It only recognizes files that are within the internal memory, none of the external memory. However, when entering "Folder", the system is detecting the external memory, but apparently the system is not able to load the information contained in the micro SD.
At the same time, I wanted to factory format it, but all the formatting options are broken, that is, they are visible but when you choose any of them, it does nothing, it does not execute them.
I want to save this device and I need your help please.
Thank you so much.

Hi @ruidito! Welcome to ASR.

Have you tried contacting A&K Customer Support via [email protected]?

Seems to me like they would know best how to fix this issue.

It seems like the Kann Cube uses an OS based on Android, so you may be able to wipe and reinstall the OS via the Android Debug Bridge (ADB).

Thanks staticV3.
I wrote them today (not to that email adress). Still no answer.
I agree on the procedure for Android devices, but i can´t find the firmware to flash it: download

You may find your issue has been experienced by others and a solution if you search the thread, hope you get it sorted - good luck :)

edit : found a soft reset in the headfi thread

Try a soft reset and see if that fixes the issue. To perform a soft reset, while the player is turned on, press and hold the power button down for 10 - 12 seconds until the player shuts down. Once it shuts down, press the power button again to restart it.

Mine was acting a little odd after update. I pulled my sd card, did a soft reset, reinserted my sd card and trouble was gone. I have my beloved Cube back.

A soft reset can often solve small glitches, good first try (unplugging it from power for a bit is essentially a soft reset, too).
