ASR recommendations for lottery winners.

@John Atkinson 's plot is labeled in dBV on the vertical. 0dBV equals 1V. He says he tested at 3V out. Off the top of the scale by +9.54dBV and makes the harmonics look worse by ~10dBV. Vertical scale needs to be -150 to +10dBV.

If he wanted to make 0dB the reference, he would have used dBr on the vertical I would expect.
The vertical scale is mislabeled. Should have been dBr ref. 3V.

Depends on how friendly and sympathetic local law enforcement is :p

That's why this might be my top lottery pick:
GR-Corolla.jpg

"C'mon, it's just a three-cylinder Corolla, how could I have been driving that fast?" Just another respectable citizen driving an econobox to get groceries, that's me.

Humm, I'd rather be buried in that, than be seen driving it on the street. LOL

If I really wanted to splurge, I'd spend an outrageous USD 65 on these ;)

I'll rather get this 2025 Porche 911 GTS (or another variation) with the Burmeister system, altough Bose can also (is the standard system). American sportscars go fast sometimes, but are not really known to be good at taking corners, while this beast, once you know the trick, is the best arround for that. If you don't know the trick, it may try to kill you altough...

TBH if I won the lottery, I wouldn't be buying crazy expensive cars or out of hand audio products... I would be making some smart investments with it, to make more money off that won money. One doesn't become wealthy by overtly spending... ;)

Since you are naturally smart and have invested wisely, you are naturally rich, aren't you.

There is so much unnecessary crap you can spend your money on. In Dubai, you can withdraw gold bars from a vending machine.
You can also have your subwoofers plated with gold.
Hair transplants?
Liposuction?
Corvette?
McIntosh DAC?
Have fun with everything.

Nah, I already have investments. They're for poor people. I'd be going crazy with the money. Easy come, easy go.

I'd get a couple of pals together, take the Queen Mary II to New York, rent one of those giant R.Vs and tour the country until the money ran out.

Check the video I posted above and you will see that the current C8 ZR1 has nothing to do with that old US cars prejudices but takes also corners really well, even the previous generation C7 ZR1 was already a bit faster on the Nürburgring than a 911 GT3 which is quite faster than a GTS.

It's also not only about top speed when you spend that kind of money, it's about the joy of driving the car. And that is a subjective (at least partly) factor. I would never drive that car, even if it's given for free, as the C8 ZR1 looks awfull to my (subjective) taste...

And i hear not carnutt (i'm not) outside the US going crazy about this car or it's performances, so i guess it's not that special (except very fast). But if you love that car, just disregard my comments, it's just a car... I was mentioning the Porche because it has a Meridian system as option to replace the standard bose system and is very fast. I'm quiet happy with my small BMW with generic speakers, and would not buy a supercar when i win the lotto. It has no use for me as passenger car.

@Waxx : A friend once had a C6... great sound, compared to a Porsche you felt like sitting on the asphalt, great driving dynamics. Awesome.
Porsche's technical superiority is a myth that's still being told despite the facts to the contrary. The Corvette C4 was already on par with most 911s in terms of performance, and the C6 and C7 have also set several track records for production vehicles. The racetrack successes also demonstrate that GM knows how to build sports cars. Recently, for example, Porsche has found itself in a bit of a dilemma. While they want to keep the 911 as the top model, the rear-engine concept technically is considered inferior to the competition (at least in competition use). Therefore, they moved away from the production version of the 991 model and built a de facto rear-mid-engine race car. The Corvette, on the other hand, made the complete switch from a front-mid-engine to a rear-mid-engine with the current model series.
In my opinion, it's a real shame that GM decided to throw away over 50 years of continuity and ultimately the aesthetics of this unique, constantly refreshed vehicle silhouette for the sake of some marketing impact in motorsport.
I strongly prefer the C7 model over the C8 or any 911. That said, my choice after winning in the lottery: Audi R8 V10

Regarding Audio: Kef Blade with wall-mounted subwoofers in the living room and an additional private cinema with the latest technology.
