ASR recommendations for lottery winners.

One of our neighbors down the road has one in this color, and it’s a beautiful design! I would find it a bit challenging to choose a model since there are sixteen different options available! Plus configurations..
With enough money you can get almost any hue at Porsche:

There's about 20 countries I havent visited yet (visit, not work,is not the same) and I exclude the ones with strange regimes.
There.

And oh,I would modify my front wall to soffit-mount the biggest, baddest mains monitors.

For your safety, you should avoid certain countries.

I have an Iranian friend, and he invited me to visit his family in Iran. I would dearly love to go, if only so that I can shop for Persian rugs! Sadly, the situation in Iran over the last decade has made it almost impossible to go. There was a brief period where it was relatively safe before the pandemic, but right now I wouldn't dream of going.

My friend keeps telling me, "the people are not the same as the government". I believe him, he is one of the most lovely and kindest guys you could ever meet.

Sadly, there are fewer countries I'd want to (re)visit now compared to years ago. I'd probably focus more on investing while keeping family life just as it is -mostly.

Yeah, not the most exciting answer... :)

Yes,that's the kind of "strange" I meant. And it's sad for the people,I mean their art, literature and heritage is important to all of us,and as everywhere there's nice people and bad people as well.
(I love rugs too,I'm eying a silk-wool one for couple of months now.Not fit for audio though, they maybe be big but are thin compared with only-wool ones)

If I won the lottery, I would demolish my house, excavate a 7m x 9m x 3m basement for a new listening room, then rebuild my existing house on top of it.
Wins lottery and doesn’t even build dedicated listening room using golden ratio dimensions. :D ;)

I wouldn't buy anything that is visible, apart from the speakers, in terms of audio. Probably some custom installation with Purifi amplifiers and such. So instead of going from €1000 to €15000 for an amplifier, I'd just spend it on remodeling my home to hide all the electronics and have some more hidden acoustic treatment done.

If only there was a consensus about this dimensions...
I mean they change the minute you enter the room.

When I was building mine I searched around, asked my installers, etc. At the end I made it the biggest I could by not loosing a cm to deal with my uneasiness about small spaces.
When finished and they saw it and finished drugging their hair and speaking words not for public they proposed me a booth  Yes,seriously.

At the end they fixed it of course.A note though, they fixed the room, not a particular point and system.

There'd be nothing wrong measurement-wise doing a Purifi build. But the thread proposes "no concern for price or value" and you've immediately invoked same. Instant fail !!

:oops::eek::p

*you weren't the first though, nor does it matter much

I'm not paying attention to value. Just something that performs well and runs cool to stuff away in a small space. The costs are going into remodelling the actual space to make sure you don't see equipment and the acoustic treatment is also hidden or at least nice looking.

I'd keep the same equipment and just move to a bigger house somewhere warmer and that has fields and trees and stuff.

Devonshire, probably.

That would use up most of the win on its own anyway.

No way would I be spending 75 large on a pre-amp that in practical terms is no better than my Sony (£350 off of eBay) or any other Veblen goods.

@John Atkinson 's plot is labeled in dBV on the vertical. 0dBV equals 1V. He says he tested at 3V out. Off the top of the scale by +9.54dBV and makes the harmonics look worse by ~10dBV. Vertical scale needs to be -150 to +10dBV.

If he wanted to make 0dB the reference, he would have used dBr on the vertical I would expect.
Seems to be the only reply that, so far, addresses the OP questions.

I'd love to see how this Soulution would fare under the scrutiny of an @amirm or similar review; if, indeed it is the best performance available, then IMHO it would be worth its darn price, even if such performance is never used by its owner. Same with someone buying a Bugatti Veyron or equivalent. These are supposed to provide the best performance (in certain areas) of all and any cars at any price on the market... but it is clear an understood that their owners , for the most part, cannot extract that performance...
Not the exact same for audio as we, humans as currently built, have our (low) limits.
Bragging rights ..

Peace.

The 3 setups I'd consider as end game

Probably a pair of higher end active speakers, like Dynaudio Focus 50 or D&D 8c. I know this isn't quite lottery money for many members here, but for me it would be!
+ Consult some expert on elegant room treatment and DSP of course.
