ASR Forum Member Tag/Title Descriptions

For those unfamiliar, I should mention the colour would be better in scarlet as Nathaniel Hawthorne first posited it.

New Member @ 000 post count
Up to 100 posts should be considered New.
Member @ 005+
Since everybody is a member, this one can be done without.
Active Member @ 100+
This one should be based on number of posts per month, to show as being ACTIVE!
Senior Member @ 300+
Should be based on the length of membership and activity, like more than 5 years and a certain minimum activity , for those that other titles may not apply.
Addicted to Fun and Learning @ 500 +
This one tickled me! should be changed to Rookie.
Major Contributor @ 1000+
Major Poster is more apt.
Master Contributor @ 5000+
If no other titles apply , should be changed to "Got nothing better to do"
Grand Contributor @ 10,000+
Staff excluded, If no other titles apply, should be changed to "fixture & fittings"

:) :) Just a humorous alternative. Surely mean no disrespect to any members.
After all, I am a Rookie!

I guess I am fine with the way things are as historical, this site is only growing and new folks just sort of get used to what things are and once you are here for a while then like lots of old timers why change midcourse.

Thank you @amirm,
Would you also provide us with the salary ranges for each tag/title category?
I may be interested in getting a promotion but it depend$.

I've been asked how I got my title several times over the last few years. :D

After joining ASR, I started putting together several threads.

Here are the noteworthy ones:
Date PublishedTitleLink
2020-02-01Master List of Speaker Companies
2020-10-06List of Budget Bookshelf Speakers (under US$300)
2020-10-16List of Canadian Speaker,Headphone,Subwoofer Resellers/Dealers
2020-12-19List of Amir's Headphone PEQ filters
2020-12-30List of Amir's Recommended Speakers, for Canadians
2021-01-12List of Amir's Highly-Recommended Headphones, for Canadians

On 2021-01-31, Amir reached out to me (via PM) to offer a new tag/title based on my contribution so far.

That gave me some inspiration and i've created the following threads after that:

Date PublishedTitleLink
2021-02-01List of Amir's Headphone GEQ filters
2021-02-17Subwoofer Comparison
2021-03-03How to use 2 DACs on 1 Windows 10 PC, with separate PEQ profiles?
2021-11-12Kef Uni-Q generations and speakers
2021-11-19Active Speaker Recommendations for USA (by @sweetchaos)
2021-11-20Passive Speaker Recommendations for USA (by @sweetchaos)

Now you know the story...
Who knows what kind of crazy thread idea I'll come up with next...:p

Peace!

I added the automatic member titles based on post count to OP.

That's going to mess with our detractors who created an entire mythology around how these were based on the size of the financial contribution.

When they find out that the guy who gave $1.00 has the same 'Forum Donor' tag as the guy who gave $1,000 some heads may explode.

They all involve travel and working unsociable hours, I'm warning you now.

Someone who argues a whole bunch and has between 5,000 and 10,000 posts should be called a MasterBaiter?

It is a subjective assessment by me based on contributions to the forum. Example of what influences me is patiently explaining core technical topics to others. Writing tutorials. And being cordial about it.
Subjective? Is that allowed here?
At least do an unsighted, output matched double blind study for gawds sakes.
What sort of forum do you think this is?

Where can I apply for my $999 refund??

You had to toss in that last part to up the difficulty level to Insane ! Otherwise we would have hundreds and hundreds of Technical Experts running around.

Makes a lot of sense, and yes you are absolutely correct about the hundreds of Tech Experts running around thinking they're adding to the convo. :)

It is, of course, scientifically derived and relative to a base salary. For titles assigned by @amirm it is based upon a performance-ranking methodology per a complex weighting function. Then your salary is determined by your weighted rank multiplied by the base salary. For tags based upon post count, you simply multiply post count (rank) by the base salary. This leads to a simple formula:

Salary = Rank * Base Salary

Note Base Salary is $0 USD.
