AsciLab speakers are about to launch

I find it mildly amusing in the day and age of auto-correct to post your criticism of another's posting style and not expect to have to proof-read it :)
.
(Please take this in the playful spirit in which it is meant- in general I agree that when posting in a forum where English is the common tongue that it is reasonable to ask people to post in English if they want to be "heard")

You indeed have a point there!

We crossed bass - mid driver around 200Hz.
The baffle is narrow but also vertically long.
So the baffle step doesn’t take bass not that much. The midbass driver lose about 4dB in bass range
Is the port on the front side in C8T? If on the back, with side firing woofers, positioning will be hard in normal houses.

That is typical misunderstanding.
The placement of a port or woofer doesn’t affect much. Port placement actually has almost no differences cause the port frequency is too low to have different phase by different plane.
Side firing woofer also doesn’t affect much in sub-bass range. It is same as front firing type speaker. Actually ours will have narrower directivity in midbass, so you can place the speaker more easily without midbass SBIR.

I find it mildly disrespectful in the day and age of auro translators to speak your native language and expect everyone to understand it.
Please accept my apologies if Molière's language may have offended some readers.
I posted my reply in English using my translator so as not to offend anyone with my English language style. But it was Google's automatic translator that translated it back into French when the message was sent!
Some see this as a lack of respect, others as a lack of tolerance... What an era we live in.

It’s all good and you didn’t do anything wrong at all

Any further updates on the restock for C6B? Really trying not to miss this since it seems like it will sell out quickly :( Website still says late August and probably should be updated.
I've ordered my c6b's from audiophonics now and the restock has been delayed a few times (not a complaint, I am patient), the most current time is: 19 - 26 December. Ascilab also would be prioritising their distributors over their own webstore for stock.

So I would plan accordingly and it would give you more time to save!

Would it be possible to order a C6B without passive radiator / is there a C6Bs in the pipeline?

+1 on C6B restock (or timing of similar priced alternatives). I'm Aus based so no distributor - an estimated ETA would really help planning... Not complaining I think these are worth a wait.

Thanks ASCI lab!

I'm also Australian and it was just easier to go with audiophonics, I at least have an order that will be fulfilled and that I don't have to gamble with them selling out on the ascilab site, which has happened once already.

Here is the ascilab response about the restock in another thread also about Australia/NZ. It lines up with the audiophonics ETA, so the new year it is!

Hey J0my,

Thanks so much for taking the time to pass on the info, appreciate it. I'll consider it, looks like I'll have to fork out more $$to go this route, I may just exercise patience.

For some reason your link doesn't work, Is there a title I can search?

Thanks again and happy listening!

No worries! I just wanted to let you know about the option that was there, I missed out the last time they were on the site so I am making sure it doesn't happen again.

I have not used these forums too much before but this quote should work, I will update the link as well.

We don’t have dealers yet at that region.
You can order from our website directly.
We expect for now C6B will be in stock in December.
Also interesting to see so many other Australians are on the forum.

Much obliged. It worked well.

I'm a novice that has been happily playing a FLAC library out of a pair of KRK rokit 6 and an OG Chromecast for the last decade. Time to elevate and it seems the C6Bs are the one... So here I have joined up. Learning lots!

S6B enclosure. Look at those openings for 8" passive radiators and that nice interior bracing.

Why did @AsciLab choose 8" PR? Wouldn't 2 PR with 6,5" be the sufficient regarding the size of the single active 6,5" midbass driver?

We are gonna use lower resonance frequency for PR to extension F10. Then they should have longer excursion. To get linear movement of PRs, we choose the 8” PR.

Really looking forward to the measurements of this speaker. If the distortion is low enough, it could be a real alternative to a small 3-way speaker. Any ideas of the price at this very moment? Will it meet the 4500 Dollar price mentioned in your road map?

Listen to both in your own space is the ideal, just last evening a potential customer collected a pair of A6Bs to compare to his R3 metas.
