AsciLab speakers are about to launch

Loving all the armchair manufacturing business experts explaining on Ascilab’s behalf why wood veneer is an unreasonable and illogical idea.
No offence meant to the several people who've posted asking about a veneer finish on the Ascilab threads. Just that I've never seen such requests about other speaker manufacturers.
I'd be more inclined to buy these speakers if they had a full grille option. But I know they aren't going to do that. :)

So, any news on what will be available and when? In two weeks, I'll have some cash to splash, and you wouldn't want to miss out on such an opportunity, would you? ;)

If the Internet had a logo it should be the armchair.

The only info we know is what is listed on the product pages for each speaker type:

C6B - late August (this week hopefully)
F6B - early Sept
F6Bs - early Sept

Just saw I have a $150 fedex bill from my c6b darn it. I thought I bought early enough, but apparently not. If you bought a pair and didn’t pay the tariffs, I’d keep an eye out.

Possibly/maybe? The A6B looks nice in white.

The big towers were already discussed before FYI:
Qualitative Comparison:

This speaker is custom-made based on consumer requests. It features a combination of Bliesma tweeters and mid dome, with Purifi mids for the upper range with a Hypex plate amp, while the lower range is handled by three Seas L26 Roy drivers with a Hypex plate amp. The high and mid provides wide dispersion, and the low frequencies are managed with cardioid implementation to correct room response characteristics in the bass range.

There's one problem with these speakers, now that I think about it. Future users recommended a grille on the front bass driver, and that was implemented, but what about the side passive radiators? ;) Cat owners make up about 20-50% of the population, depending on the European country, so a fairly significant group of users ;) Cats jump on the speakers. Rarely from the front, because there's a grille, which usually falls off. So after two tries, cat learns that this side isn't suitable. If the drivers aren't damaged after a few tries, the problem is solved. Cats, however, then switch to jumping on the sides, especially since that's the natural route from the TV stand. ;)Normally, typical speakers usually end up scratched on the sides, but depending on the finish, it's not a major problem (usually minimal marks visible from less than a meter away at the right angle). But what if there's a passive radiator on the side? Without any grille, it's doomed...

Keep cat out of room perhaps?
Keith

Not very fond of cats, sorry,

So... lock him in the bedroom forever? xD Interesting idea, but do you know what a cat is and how it works?
Same Problem with Kids :D Also for the A6B there are No Grills available on the Homepage and at Audiophonics only for other Models and its Not clear If they fit on the Side, but i guess they will. Anyway No speakers at all available at this Moment at AsciLab :D

I have a pair of C6B on the way and I have to admit the idea of the exposed ceramic midwoofer makes me a little uneasy. I have a 5yr old grandson that I'll have to keep out of dustcap-pushing range.

As you see from my profile pic, I have some experience.

And they don't work like you suggested.

Funnily enough, the only time I had to replace components in a speaker was due to a child pushing in the dome on tweeter...

With the current set, when they first arrived, the cats were very interested in the random noise coming from the tweeter due to a noisy AC circuit. That was scary. But now no problems, and no grilles (not possible on these.)

Certainly "no cats" would in general be easier, though, no doubt about it.

K.

What about putting cloth bags over the speakers when not in use. Would this keep the cats and kids away?

Maybe, maybe not, it depends on the cat. To me, it looks more like it's drawing attention to the speakers and turning them into a scratching post. ;)The ability to put a cover over the passive radiators, like on the front woofer, would be an optimal solution. It won't guarantee 100% safety, but it's still something. Besides, just like with the front cover, if you don't need it, you don't have to buy it; everyone's happy...
