AsciLab speakers are about to launch

Really enjoying the A6B, thanks Jinsung and Changyeul.

I’m so looking forward to your impression. It’s the very first listening experience from other country except Korea.
They are superb, everything anyone would want, clarity, yet not cold or harsh, unbelievable dynamics, bass is astonishing.
They sound like a large three way speaker yet are a compact design.
They have exceeded my expectations but then all of your designs have exceeded my expectations.
Congratulations on superb work.

Is the warranty different between passives and actives.

I’m not sure if it was mentioned before, but are all actives using hypex plate amps now, or are there others.
And why would you use others.

How is the cardioid experimentation going.
People will likely use these in unconditioned rooms with the big advantage of less bass at the rear of the speaker, but how will it behave if items surround the speaker placement. I mean this is a mass market product.

Also, any considerations for an active or passive three way design. I would be very much interested in that.
Just add a hypex amp of my own.

By the numbers, I feel the C6B and F6B are pretty typical sensitivity, but the A6B are a decent notch lower sensitivity. But they can take a lotta power! With a strong source/pre-amp, and at typical normal levels, I imagine it's probably fine - but imagine they probably really do want a strong amp.

Did you find a pretty obvious and substantial difference in output level?

(AsciLab's A6B Spin Data link for convenience...)

Yeah, I'd be very keen on an option for active implementation, with my own choice of external amp/DSP. An option to buy without passive crossover, and with double binding posts, and the parameters for crossover/DSP.

Only enthusiasts would be interested for that. Although I’m sure it would sound good with versatility too.
Just an active or passive three way itself would be more popular with a larger market.

If not enthusiastic, people probably aren't buying these at all? :-)

I just imagine, perhaps foolishly, that it would be quite easy to make external Amp/DSP active models available as an option - no passive crossover, same cabinet and drivers, some minor hardware for tweeter protection and perhaps some passive attenuation. add binding posts. Even if they only sell low volume, on demand with a slower delivery timeframe, like the custom paint finishes.

Perhaps warranty and customer satisfaction is of some concern when leaving the very important crossover aspect of the speaker in the hands of the end user.

I still want it, come on, who's with me! :-P

The most important thing to concern as a manufacturer is that people can’t share their listening impression for the same sound.

Yep, makes sense. Dangerous variable. Sell with some kind of non-disclosure contract? :-)

My interest in 3-way is rather limited, considering the 1khz crossover and that I'd use sub(s) anyway,

It’s hard to expect that we sell modifiable version :)

Dual 8” woofers and ported design.
On a scale of 1:10, how much should I avoid messing around with floorstanding speakers in a 21m² room (living room with kitchenette) - speaker arrangement in an equilateral triangle with a user with an triangle side length of 2.5-2.7m. Should I just stop it, get help, and buy standmounts?
