AsciLab speakers are about to launch

after receiving my F6Bs, i received Duty Invoice from FedEx demanding a "Duty Advancement Fee", how is that legit when I did not ask for nor agree to let them front the duty for me?

Any updates on when these will be for sale again? Website still lists mid July.

Which model ( and where are you) are you interested in?

@AsciLab How is the development of the C6C progressing?

I have a question. The MTM configuration of the C series makes large cancellation lobes in the vertical directivity from 600 Hz to 1.5 kHz where both woofers are still playing, that leads to a widening of the vertical directivity around from 1.5 kHz to 4 kHz.

Have you considered revising the waveguide and the driver disposition to make the C series a constant narrow vertical directivity speaker?

For example constant +- 20 degrees vertical radiation from 600 Hz to 20 kHz. I don't know if this is possible within your design goals, but some manufacturers (Perlisten) think narrow constant vertical directivity sounds good.

Question, if I want to change the waveguide for a different color later. Can I just buy it and change it myself? Dealer offers it but I would hate to ship back and forth.

They should skip or put on hold the mtm cardioid for three ways.
Not sure which is more difficult to implement, but larger drivers would solve a need in the market for higher spl with low distortion.

C5B and C6B bass distortion below tuning frequency is common for passive speakers using port or PR.
50~200Hz high bass distortion is rather benign due to not make IMD over the mid to high frequency.
If you use subwoofer with C5B and C6B, their potential is very promising.

Would you say the PR becomes redundant with a subwoofer or does it still do something (positive/negative)?

I plan to use the C6B with 2 subs and they would look so much better without the PR (subjective I know).

If you add high pass filter above 50Hz(35Hz is the tuning frequency), then the PR doesn’t work. Most of SPL would be produced by the front woofer. That’s the why F6BS is available. We’ll consider to design C6BS too :)

What keep thinking is, the PR does not work but now you are left with a substantial area of the enclosure that is literary paper thin.

How about an insert to replace the PR? you can make it real fancy with the logo and maybe even color match it with the waveguide. It can be swapped out by virtually everybody, it's just 4 screws.

I for one would gladly pay extra for that accessoire.

I just realized what my next project is. Replacing the PR with a solid piece, and since I have access to the crossover, mounting a high pass filter for the woofer on that.

I would replace the PR and crossover by a plateamp

Not a fan of active speakers, but I guess it could be done.

Anyway, If I am not mistaken the crossover for the F6B and the C6B are the same except for 1kHz vs 1.1Khz. The F6Bs uses a high pass for the woofer, I wonder if I could use that with a slight mod to 1.1kHz but I can't seem to find a pic of that crossover.

Now I want that over the F6BS (>﹏<)

But a cleaner midrange exists with a three way design.
Then the bass can be directional on the woofer, below which the sub bass can be omnidirectional. Thus the need for the upcoming sub series not needed for mass market sales.
