AsciLab speakers are about to launch

I’d go C6B over concerta for sure. Probably over the ls50 too. R3 would be a harder choice to make, but that’s double the price msrp.
OTOH, if you already have LS 50 Metas, it probably isn't worth it to go to C6B's. Makes more sense to go to A6B's, or S6B's or C6C's. Which one is really the question I'm pondering here. Also would be nice to see someone weigh in on these models vs LS 60's or even Reference 1 Metas.

Only thing I REALLY would like to have is the waveguide (the rest could be manufactured in the basement) .

Imo it's much easier to build yourself an amplifier or preamplifier that has state of the art specs (hypex) than putting effort in building speakers at this price.
Not to mention the fact that you can always resell a speaker of a brand with a good reputation easily. Try that with a DIY project....

My prediction is that the A6b is the best value for money in the range. More bass output than the C6b, enough to be full range for music.
Cheaper than the S6b and C6C, without losing much bass output or noticeable distortion.

Happy to get it wrong though. We will see.

I'm also most interested in the A6B too - hopefully won't be much more of a wait!

As good as the A6B sounds the C5C and C6C seem to make a lot of sense for those of us that must place the speakers near walls and boundaries. I'm 1 ft from rear wall and 2.5ft from side wall.

You could. But you would not save much in doing so and that is assumed you have a lot of tools already available and be a very skillful speaker builder.
Tools are here a lot, some double and triple  ,building speakers for more than 30 years now.
Only thing I miss sometimes is CNC and 3-D printer, but so long didn't really need it.
And Klippel?: we have lot of landscape around and a big hall in the neighbourhood ...;)

F6B and C6B are now on audiophonics

I think it'll be my christmas gift this year :D
Shipping cost should be moderate with container shipment, so a lot of pre-order would help to keep the costs low ... just saying and thinking to buy ... but hesitate, as there are some spare plateamps, enclosure could be manufactured locally, and transducers are well available ... maybe there is one little spare corner within the container for a pair of waveguides ...? ;)

Am I the only that finds this rather rude?
A company spends 100's of thousands of dollars on equipment and a massive amount of work hours to develop a product (line) that looks great, sounds great, all of that with a fair price to boot.
Then someone comes to their thread to say that because it uses off-the-shelf parts, they could just copy their product AND they even ask for the only part that they can't just easily copy.
Like what is the expected response? Do you think the company will just provide parts?

Totally rude. If it were my company, Salt would be on the do not sell list immediately.

For hifi gear heads and so called experienced speaker builders and long time audiophile or fools, it amazes me the lack of knowledge /respect of the extensive R&D and know how that goes into well performing /measuring speakers like Ascilab. I'm fortunate I have visited them and spent multiple hours listening to the speakers. It's impressive. It's obvious the amount of work, technology and know how that went into these speakers. I'm guessing the same naysayers work for free in their real life because they fail to account for the thousands of man hours that have gone into this with little to no revenue, a.k.a. R&D.
Multiple ASR long time members and contributors scoff at it and imagine they can do the same. If it was that easy, don't you think SMSL, Topping, Douk or Fosi would have come out with speakers like this just like they introduce DACS, preamps and now amps that measure and perform well and do so 2 to 4 times per year?
Just take a moment and think about that.
Are you guys really that smart that you can equally engineer and build products like SMSL or Topping? If you could, which I guarantee you cannot, then what makes you think you can design and build speakers like this? There are talented speaker designers with talented engineering teams that could do this and have done this. The end result is a speaker that is 3 to 5x or more in price.

The only comprehensible reason for such naysayers is total subjectivism. You think you can build a good sounding speaker. But get it to measure like this even with the same drivers? At this price? And make a profit? Best of luck and hope you have a fat bank account.
