AsciLab speakers are about to launch

I am particularly interested in seeing measurements of the S6B: on paper it should be the best small bookshelf speaker regarding bass response and distortion. In fact, MD should rival good 3-way-designs and it could be my dream speaker being limited to an apartment in Germany with neighbours. And I do hope, it makes a subwoofer obsolete with music (I know that each small speaker will benefit from at least two subwoofers, but still ...).
My Sointuva AWG with the same Purifi woofer reaches deep into the low 30s and never let me wanting for a subwoofer, and I have both space and budget to buy one if I wanted to.

Agree, very interested to see how it shakes out in the production version. But you should definitely be planning to have a beefy amp for that one...

Hello guys!
Can anyone compare C6B to the speakers that I do have at the moment at home
Wharfedale Lintons 85
Wharfedale EVO 4.1
Beovox 80.2
Beovox MS150

How would C6B compare to them, which one would be better and for what type.
Are theese C6B good for movues aswell?

My room is 25m2

If You proivide Your adress and confirm a C6B is located there to compare, a microphone owner might find it's way

Unfortunatelli, I am still thinking if I shuld buy it, also I don't know, where to buy it and what would be the final price, incl. VAT to my country ( Bulgaria )

Do these speakers work well place chose to rear wall (1 foot away) and close to side walls (2 feet)? If so, which models?

What about asymetric rooms?

and I don't need very high levels either.

Oh, you will be pleasantly surprised when seeing the raw power of C6Cs. They are monsters, crazy low HD/multitone with amazing bass extension.
(They have demo prototype unit with NFS measurments).

F6C which is not measured nor fully developed might be close to what you expect. No mtm design, just classic three 6" woofers for cardioid down to the mid-low frequencies. and 3/5 of the cost compared to c6c.

I'm interested in purchasing a pair of C6B's, but I'm in the US (California specifically). Since this costs over $800, that means I will be charged with custom duties since it's shipping from South Korea, correct? I tried searching high and low for the percentage tax that will be charged, but I can't find a direct answer. Even ChatGPT isn't coming up with anything. Does anybody know specifically?

Also I see that the C6B is has a 4ohm impedance rating. Will something like a Yamaha A-S500 amplifier suffice?

I don't see any mention of it being capable of handling a 4ohm load, but looking at customer reviews on Crutchfield's website, people are saying it works perfectly fine with 4ohm speakers.

Topping pa7, Fosi audio Z3, ...?
They're 4 ohms stable and cheaper with higher power.

In the case of the United States, tariff policies have been changing rapidly since the change in administration, so it's difficult to determine the current tariff situation.
However, previously, regardless of the $800 threshold, there was a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Korea, so the tariff rate was 0%.
As far as we know, the duty-free policy for goods under $800 has also been abolished.
For the most accurate information, we recommend checking with the relevant U.S. authorities.

In a typical environment, using the A-S500 poses no issues at all.

Are any parts or components of the C6B manufactured in China? IIRC, tariffs would still apply if that's the case, even if it's shipping from outside of China, correct?

Without getting political, this current situation here in the states is such a huge PITA. This seems to be such a great-value speaker, and I just wanna make sure I don't get hit with some fat, unexpected tax.

Ordered a couple days ago from the states. $200 shipping, that's it.

I'm assuming you haven't received them yet though? Hopefully they don't get stuck in customs or with the carrier until you pay a ransom demand.

This is what I'm worried about.

I just asked another South Korean vendor of electronics I've purchased from previously (NOT affiliated with AsciLab) and they told me:

"A basic 10% duty is applied, along with an additional 25% duty on products from South Korea, resulting in a total of around 35% in import duties."

This is again for orders over $800 USD. And it does not include any additional tariff fee, if it turns out that some or all of components are manufactured in China.

So for US residents who have placed a recent order, please let us know what your experience is when it delivers.

Not yet, I'll update this thread when I do.

@AsciLab congratulations on your recent reviews from Amir and Erin.

I wonder if you have in your roadmap any floorstanding models based on the 2-way models, essentially extending the enclosure and adding additional woofers making them 3-way.

My thinking is that the US should be a big market for you and with bigger average room sizes and a preference for extended and powerful bass, your current 2-way stand mount speakers will not always suit.

I realise customers can add subwoofers but I believe the 3-way tower is a better solution for many customers with larger rooms and sometimes they still require a subwoofer with towers.

Your upcoming cardioid with optional bass extending base will no doubt be a phenomenal product, but I would like to see 3-way single cabinet models with high 80s or low 90s dB sensitivity, with more cone area for better bass dynamics and depth, but with high value price points.
