How close to the wall do you suggest this system be placed, AsciLab?About 1.1~1.2m from the floor.
This will change what rooms it fits into.
This looks FANTASTIC!

I totally agree Matias an extremely elegant design. Kii killer.

From my understanding an in room graph like that, which basically turns flat above the crossover point is because of the constant directivity above the crossover point instead of a narrowing radiation pattern. I never bothered to look up the definition of EIRR so I might be wrong.I have expressed some concern previously and but after some thought, I think that to a large extent it is a non issue, and if one desires it can be dealt with EQ.
If there was something that could be improved on the two way Ascilab speakers without turning them into a three way or a cardioid, it would the discontinuity in the directivity between 750 Hz and 2000 Hz, it goes from 110° on each side below 750 Hz, to 60° on each side right above 750 Hz, and slowly goes to 50° on each side. A more regular narrowing between 750 Hz and 2000 Hz would probably be better. Ironically, the 5" models are marginally better than the 6" models on this aspect.
As a result of this, there's a sharp rise in the Sound Power DI better 600 and 2000 Hz which may or may not introduce an undesired impact on the sound at a distance. This is another way of seeing the phenomenon.
View attachment 420789Of course, that is just me speculating, speaker design is a matter of compromise, there may be other constraint that prevent Ascilab from achieving this or make Ascilab prioritize other characteristics than this. I would love to hear what @AsciLab thinks.
After having a great startup, pricing can change very fast ... look at eversolo/xidoo and others. This looks to be the next step forward in speaker design. 1/3 (or less hopefully) the price of Kii bxt and better drivers. Other companies will have some catching up to do regarding price if the supply is met on these
I think I missed the part where AsciLabs somehow owes you something??Ok, guys,it will be March 2025 in just a couple of weeks, and we still are not even seeing an AsciLab web site, or an international release date for any of your products. What gives? When can we expect to see the release of at least one of your products? And a website? How far along are you? Everything going well?
How about a little communication here about some concrete details of when these products are going to become available for purchase?
If you want it that bad, buy a ticket to Seoul and buy a pair. Geez. Take a chill pill. No need for such aggression.Ok, guys,it will be March 2025 in just a couple of weeks, and we still are not even seeing an AsciLab web site, or an international release date for any of your products. Sorry, the title of this thread is "Ascilab speaker are about to launch" and it's first dated May 1, 2024. It's now nearly eight months later, and there's been no availability, no timetable, and no website. I'm at a loss regarding what universe asking the manufacturer when things are going to happen is considered an unfair or "hateful' or "entitled" or "uncivil" question.I think I missed the part where AsciLabs somehow owes you something??
