AsciLab speakers are about to launch

Excellent work on the passive crossover. I like to see passive models. It appears to be executed just as well as the active version.

Like the mint green color, too. I bet a cream or tan colored speaker would look nice as well.

The production of some speaker stands has been completed, and they are waiting to be shipped.

Differing heights very sensible, I offer those legs as an ‘over the desk’ option but to offer them from the outset shows real foresight.

So the woofer cover ring is not present on the finaly shiped version?
Can't wait for it to be available in Europe...

No. They are before packaged. Covering will be attached.

For the first time ever, I must face off against a dragon.

The dragon wields the sharp teeth of NFS, while I am tasked with measuring the exact same sample using traditional equipment. At best, I can hope to break even.

In this asymmetrical battle of power, the only thing that can protect me is my sharp spear.

So, I’ve prepared my secret weapon! :)

My biggest concern in this battle is the extremely short early reflections caused by the ‘microphone holder’ used for measurements.

Under normal circumstances, this would be such a minor issue that it wouldn’t even matter in personal reviews. However, since I need to extract ultra-high-resolution measurement data this time, it becomes a very delicate task.

So, I refined the pipe and successfully crafted an ultra-precise weapon that is only 3mm thicker in diameter than the Earthworks M30.

I filled the inside of the pipe with sound-absorbing material to eliminate unnecessary resonances, reinforced it structurally, and finished it off with the magical black tape.

As a result, my weapon to protect myself is complete.

Now, all that’s left is the showdown. (This Saturday)

I’m really looking forward to it.

You are crazy but in a good way.

On the bright side, it would take about a month to get all those speakers on the NFS. :)

I am eagerly anticipating Nuyes's measurements of the 12 (user provide)+1 (Ascilab provide) loudspeakers.
Among these, one set of A6B belongs to me, and I am curious to see if the specifications provided by Ascilab will be accurately reflected in the results. The manufacturer has assured us of high-quality control, not only in terms of acoustic performance but also in the external design. This measurement event will provide an opportunity to verify whether these promises are upheld.
Beyond the measuring event, I will make an effort to share my first impressions of A6B pair in this thread. Although I am not aware of any additional developments, I have heard that once the shipping and processing in Korea are completed, Ascilab will be preparing for a global release. I hope everything proceeds smoothly.

I tested my new microphone holder today.

It was a 5ms window @ 1m measurement, and the results are astonishing.

No smoothing

I compared the graphs of no smoothing vs 1/12 octave smoothing, and there’s ‘almost’ no visually detectable difference.

With this, I now have a very clean microphone holder.

I am now fully prepared for the battle. :)

I am slightly amused that in 1968, I ordered Bose 901s based entirely on magazine reviews, and now people are ordering AsciLab speakers based entirely on measurements. I still have the 901s, and bought two more at garage sales.

Magazines equal at best subjective fluff.
Measurements equal exactly how the speaker will sound.

I think the Amir measurements are 1/24, if you want comparable smoothness.
