AsciLab speakers are about to launch

If I may add a small personal wish, I would love to see a stand-integrated subwoofer designed for the C6B someday.

I think I remember seeing a prototype or photo that included a power amp for the monitors. If there’s ever a chance to choose a line-out option for the C6B output, it would be wonderful, as it would allow for the flexibility of using my own channel divider and preferred power amps.

I am already truly satisfied with the C6B as it stands, but if such a development were ever to be realized, it would be a wonderful dream for me.
What size sub are you thinking are you thinking about? With the 6's 20" baffle and 26' depth,.you probably find a 3rd party sub that would work.either a dual sub box or a tall potted that works after you DM AscLab and make sure one isn't in the works.

Thanks for the comment!

I’ve actually looked into most of the off-the-shelf subwoofers already, but my ideal setup would be a stand-integrated sub that prioritizes time alignment, similar to what Amphion or Genelec offer. Their large cabinet volume is really appealing.

I’d also prefer a sealed or passive radiator design for faster transient response, rather than a ported one. I’m planning to DIY a dual sub box in the future, but if a dedicated stand-type sub were to be released before then, I’d definitely buy it. Sending a DM to AsciLab sounds like a great idea.

Thanks!

If Ascilab release a subwoofer that integrates with the C6B, my bank wouldn't even have time to register the money that comes in from my pay-check.

I just noticed that Ascilab shared some photos of the new C5ctr center in the Korean forum. It looks like its length is between the C6B and C8C, with a depth possibly within 20 cm. I’d like to ask:
  1. Why doesn’t the C5ctr use the same 6-inch woofer as the F6B or C6B?
  2. What is the expected BASS extension capability(F3) of the C5ctr?
  3. Has the planned release in April–May been delayed?

While documenting C8C+BX8C datas, I'd like to share this data.

AsciLab directivity Index Comparison by each model.
The directivity increasing in the bass range through the model [C6B - C8T - C8C - C8C+BX8C(Standard Mode)] is quite interesting and satisfying.
And the perfect match above 1kHz DI means our all products share the same sound character, not just share the driver only.

We are proud of this linearity and consistency. Hope you enjoy!

Would you be able to add the A6B and S6B to this? the A6B would also track identically above 1kHz?

Would F series be identical as well?
Ascilab have a default directivity (F6B/C6B/A6B) that is very comparable to KEF, Neumann etc.

The exceptions are:

-C8C: cardioid mid bass + slight vertical directivity error due to MTM

-C8T: cardioid mid bass

-S6B: slightly wider directivity enabled by Purifi tweeter + custom phase plug

AFIAK probably because A6B, C6B and F6B(s) share the same tweeter and therefore the same dispersion / directivity?

Edit: sorry, F6B(s) has an aluminum dome, while A6B and C6B has an aluminum ceramic dome. But apparently same supplier (SB Acoustics) and same waveguide + phase plug.

There was a Facebook post due to the war they can’t get materials I think it was.
Due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz caused by the war with Iran, raw material factories required for speaker production have halted operations. As a result, the supply of nearly all essential materials—from MDF to paint—has become extremely difficult, making it challenging for us to continue sales for the time being.

Once the situation stabilizes after the war, we will make every effort to resume sales as quickly as possible.

For countries where we have authorized dealers, we kindly ask that you contact the respective dealer for further assistance.

thanks - if that is indeed the case, it's a bit worrying that no communication has been posted here AFAIK nor have customers received any info by email either.
I don't use FB personally.

Given the timeline communicated about the delivery for the BX8C which was end of March, I would have imagined that any bottleneck stemming from the war would occur at a later stage but definitely not immediately. I find it a bit odd that the war already had an impact eg on paint stocks during the month of March...

Due to the conflict in Iran, we are facing significant challenges in securing raw materials. We have been prioritizing material allocation for our pre-order customers above all else, and we waited to contact you until we could confirm a concrete schedule.

We are now pleased to announce that BX8C shipments will be completed by the end of April. We sincerely apologize for the delay in both communication and shipping. Thank you for your patience and continued support during these difficult times.

How does one get on a list to be notified about updates of the C5CTR?
