AsciLab speakers are about to launch

Looks like a rip-off of this:

Did anyone ever find out anything about these speakers (Prometheus)? I’ve assumed they just never happened.
According to publicly available information, Damian Demendecki is working now at PURIFI Audio in Product Development. So maybe it never turned into a profitable company but was or is more like a side-business.

The published measurements are exceptionally good, but also show clear differences in design to the C8C.

Thanks. I had a look for some for sale, just out of curiosity, but failed.

They are some of the best looking speakers I’ve seen. Especially in white.

Superbly clean lines and very modern looking.

What would be the go to speaker here for just tv/movies? The F6B, F6Bs, or C6B? Thinking the sealed maybe for ease of placement, but don't want to lose a lot of SPL, if that's a thing.

I’m using C8Cs for L/R with tv/movies. Overkill, I know. But very nice.

I don't think I want to invest that much. We put 10k into our dedicated HiFi set up in the last few months. How ever I may change my mind in a few months because I'm not in a hurry on these at least.

What are you using for a center? Thanks for the advice.

Looks like a rip-off of this:

Actually similar monitor tech design (although different cosmetics) goes back to 2008 or earlier with Barefoot monitors (and likely others). I remember discussing monitor design with Mr Barefoot at an AES when most of his designs were still in the prototype stage: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/barefoot-sound-micromain-27

@AsciLab will there be a A6B Version with the new PTT6.5X04-NAA-09 woofer?
Looks way more nicer imho! Would make the speaker a little Bit more friendly for the living room ;)

@CtheArgie If you will have a subwoofer, the F6B is pretty well. If Not or of you can afford the C6B, Go for it, but of course the will benefit from a Subwoofer too.

Yep, I found one similar design from the late 90s, the Infinity Overture Ones, which a cursory search tell me were designed by Andrew Jones. And unlike the Barefoot, there's even a waveguide in addition to the side firing woofers and the MTM design.

But in the Overture 1 there's only one bass driver, so no cardioid response. The appearance is similar, but the details of operation are rather different. Barefoot don't mention cardioid response for the MicroMain 27 either.

Just talking about the form factor.

The order is bx8c - kii3 - c8c - 8c - point zero - cdm65.
They are arranged based on the lower frequency limit of the cardioid pattern.

For the BX8C, the comparison may not be entirely appropriate because, unlike the other speakers, it is a tower speaker.
However, since there are not many cardioid speakers measured with the Klippel NFS, I included it for comparison.

As totti advised, I slowed the pace down.
Thank you for liking my graphs.
Great job, but it would be nice to have the Palmer Orbit 11s also in there.

I’m still waiting for AsciLab to release its first in-house Center Speaker for HT. When it comes out, I’ll buy one, along with a pair of C6Bs to replace my current Elac Carina.

Based on information from the FB Group, the 2-way MTM center speaker with dual 6.5-inch mid-bass drivers might be launched around April–May. I’m very curious how AsciLab will address the common lobing effect issue with this type of speaker. As for the other 3-way WTMW center speaker with dual 8-inch woofers, I imagine its price will exceed $3,000…

So, is it really the case that under the $1,500 price range, aside from SVS Prime/Ultra, there aren’t any other good WTMW options?

This Monoprice center has gotten good reviews. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=34189

I acquired the ACILAB C6B from the second production lot, and I must say, it is a truly remarkable piece of engineering. What strikes me most—and what seems to be curiously overlooked in most discussions—is the exceptional mid-low frequency resolution and impeccable time-domain characteristics.

The synergy between the passive radiator design and the precision of the crossover delivers a level of clarity and transient response that is rare in this category. In my view, these monitors are perfectly suited for the rigorous demands of professional studio environments. I am incredibly impressed and eagerly look forward to your future developments!

If I may add a small personal wish, I would love to see a stand-integrated subwoofer designed for the C6B someday.

I think I remember seeing a prototype or photo that included a power amp for the monitors. If there’s ever a chance to choose a line-out option for the C6B output, it would be wonderful, as it would allow for the flexibility of using my own channel divider and preferred power amps.

I am already truly satisfied with the C6B as it stands, but if such a development were ever to be realized, it would be a wonderful dream for me.
