AsciLab speakers are about to launch

@AsciLab

Are you still planning to release a smaller C5C (or C7C) model?
The exact model name and detailed specifications have not been finalized yet, but we are currently testing various aspects in preparation for launching an affordable cardioid speaker.
The current concept is a compact, attractively priced cardioid speaker designed for environments where high volume levels are not required.
However, it will likely take quite some time before it is officially released.

@AsciLab I know you have a lot on your plate right now with several new models in the works and scaling manufacturing, but have you thought about designing any high efficiency type designs more for the home theater crowd? Would love to see a well measuring, cost effective, waveguide, compressions driver, pro woofer style design from you guys.

I compared the c6c with commercially available cardioid speakers.

The order is kii3 - c6c - 8c - point zero - cdm65.
They are arranged based on the lower frequency limit of the cardioid pattern.
Excluding the bandwidth, the c6c seems to be the best option. (di is remarkable)

@306xx : can you do such a beautiful moving comparison also with the AsciLab C8C instead of the C6C - or just adding the C8C?
Perhaps with half the tempo?
I really love this moving graph!
Thank you!
Great work!!!

We have had a long-standing interest in products using compression drivers, such as SEOS or Unity Horn designs.

Once our current lineup is fully established and supply becomes stable, we are considering planning a separate line for these concepts. However, as this is just one of several ideas under consideration, whether it will move forward remains undecided.

Hello everyone,
I'm looking to replace my Magnat Cinema Ultra THX kit, and given the performance and price of these speakers, I'm thinking about switching.
I have a dedicated 15 m² room with a 7.3.2 setup. Could the F6B speakers work well for the surround and Atmos channels?
And what about the LCR speakers?
For context, I already have a 3‑channel Purifi amp from Buckeye to drive the LCRs, and a Denon A10H for the rest.

The order is bx8c - kii3 - c8c - 8c - point zero - cdm65.
They are arranged based on the lower frequency limit of the cardioid pattern.

For the BX8C, the comparison may not be entirely appropriate because, unlike the other speakers, it is a tower speaker.
However, since there are not many cardioid speakers measured with the Klippel NFS, I included it for comparison.

As totti advised, I slowed the pace down.
Thank you for liking my graphs.

I too find those rotating graphs really informative thanks for compiling them.

Wonderful news. We shall be patiently waiting. xD

While probably low(est) priority, I would welcome an omni-speaker with 3 presets: 1) free-standing [true omni] and placement 2) close to a wall and 3) in a corner. While not popular (on ASR), there are scenarios where a stereo-triangle simply cannot be maintained or else, for room-filling / ambient sound. Not only in ones personal space but also in restaurants, bars etc.

And I somehow expect to see some (possibly cardioid) subwoofers down the road... Just a gut feeling!

Looks like a rip-off of this:

Damian Demendecki is the designer of this speaker. He is one of the greatest speaker designers. I was greatly inspired by his designs, and we have had many discussions about what makes a good speaker for years.

Although the overall form is quite similar, his crossover approach and our design are quite different; in a way, it is a kind of convergent evolution.

I think "greatly inspired" is an understatement.

Prometheus could use a website a secure website.

Not very much with the design but quite a lot selling them.
Keith

they look nice, more curvy - remind me of my ex-Kii Threes a little

Did anyone ever find out anything about these speakers (Prometheus)? I’ve assumed they just never happened.

There is a dedicated thread here...

Has not been active for over 2 years though.

It seems kind of small:

The weight is nearly half as much as C8C (16 kg vs 25 kg).

Thank you!

Much appreciated! I’m not so skilled, doing those graphs.
