Exactly, although I have no issue at all with the Klippel results provided. As I've mentioned I kind of consider the NFS itself a third party.Independent corroboration.

And it looks damn good too! Third party Klippel testing will add street cred to Ascilab with essentially no risk and shipping being the only cost. The speed with which you have implemented the grills is truly impressive.

We are planning to send the speaker to ASR reviewer Nuyes first. Successful pre-orders have been completed in Korea, and a significant number of pre-order customers will be sending speakers to Nuyes for review. Nuyes will review a total of six pair of A6B Passive, with one set being sent by us. With a total of 6 pair and 12 individual speakers to compare, it appears that the variations between the speakers can be assessed. Once shipments to Korean pre-order customers are complete, we plan to send speakers to Erin and Amir as well. And it looks damn good too! Third party Klippel testing will add street cred to Ascilab with essentially no risk and shipping being the only cost.
A6B passive 28.77 lbWhat is the weight of the A6B passive ?
I am really looking forward to this event and the outcome, of course. Can't thank you and the others involved enough in advance for this gigantic effort! To follow this transparent process of establishing a line of loudspeakers by a newcomer is a privilege and another example of the impact ASR, EAC and a few others have on audio world.Hello everyone,
It's been a while, and I'm excited to share some great news with you.
In Korea, pre-orders for AsciLab's C5B, C6B, and A6B models have recently begun. Given the previous lack of reliable manufacturers here, I'm genuinely thrilled by this development.
In thinking about how to make the most of this opportunity, I have planned a new measurement event and would like to share the details with you.
It's important to note that AsciLab is still an unproven manufacturer, and even though they possess the Klippel NFS system, we should never fully trust the data provided solely by any manufacturer.
Thus, cross-validation is necessary.
Many of the pre-order applicants in Korea resonated with this idea and agreed to have their product shipments redirected to my studio.
Consequently, I will be receiving 7 pairs of A6B and 6 pairs of C6B, including the official samples from the manufacturer, and plan to measure them all in one day.
To minimize human error and prevent bias during the measurements, I am inviting voluntary observers from the Korean audio community, where I am an active member. They will help ensure no mishaps occur while handling the 13 pairs of speakers and monitor that I adhere correctly to the measurement processes and principles.
If everything goes smoothly, AsciLab will gain credibility for their product performance and quality control.
I will enhance the reliability of my measurement system and reviews by cross-referencing with AsciLab's Klippel NFS system.
The participating pre-order applicants will enjoy thoroughly validated speakers, and the ASR community will benefit from a wealth of comparative data to explore and discuss.
Of course, I am prepared to accept any unforeseen circumstances that may arise. I promise to be transparent about any results, no matter what they may be. All processes will be shared openly with the observers. Let's hope for the best possible outcomes.
I anticipate the event will take place around September.
Thank you.
so today I spent hours listening to A6b C6b C5b.
How would you describe the sound/tonality/imaging/soundstage differences between C6b & A6b ?
Thanks to ascilab, I added the A6B passive measurements to spinorama.org (here).
Excellent speaker! Here a comparison to the mighty Genelec 8351B:

Thanks! This is A6B active, correct? Looks like the passive actually digs a bit deeper.Pipe organ, big band, bass heavy electronics, and some nerdy j-pops with female vocals...
And it is just excellent. I won't say it goes super deep, 6.5" just can't do it. But it goes deep enough, and more importantly it hits super hard.
Seems to hold up well at 96dB!
Since the Tweeter is recessed and protected by a "lens": where is the need to cover it?@ascilab I wonder, since the tweeter is recessed, would it be possible to anchor a tweeter cover on the sides of the speaker and have it held in tension? Kind of like a face mask.
There would be no support frame in front of the speaker, and no diffraction effect related to that.
