By the way- i have a feeling your Salon2 preferred replacement 8361a -may be dethroned...
The Salon 2 is safe though. It can create deep bass that you can hear in the next town without a sub.

But with the Ascilab cardioid bass extenders, at least the nearest town behind the speakers won't hear them.

is it the same issue when you daisy-chain them via AES then? The L+R is only a problem if you Daisy-Chain them via SPDIF. Connecting every single speaker via analogue XLR or RCA it does not matter.

Yes, because the digital signal contains both channels whereas analogue signal is one channel only.is it the same issue when you daisy-chain them via AES then?
thanks and so in this configuration the only way to set L and R is via HFD software?Yes.
As far as I can see, yes. And you need to set master/client there too.thanks and so in this configuration the only way to set L and R is via HFD software?
Yes. But that's simple.thanks and so in this configuration the only way to set L and R is via HFD software?
How do you expect them to know which should be left or right by default? You need to tell them.is it the same issue when you daisy-chain them via AES then?
There could be a sticker on the back telling you which is which and which one is the master, if the manufacturer had set them up.How do you expect them to know which should be left or right by default? You need to tell them.
Thanks for these tips which will be helpful to me for sure. One last question: you said you also set the master and slave in HFD. Whets the benefit or effect of doing that?I guess everyone just needs to be aware they are not completely plug-and-play, they do require some config with the hypex software. And its very easy to do!
The master is the one that gets the the digital input and then daisy chains it on the the client (as I prefer to call it). The master needs to know to pass it on, and the client needs to know that it doesn't. The advantage is that it won't work otherwise. Thanks for these tips which will be helpful to me for sure.
