AsciLab speakers are about to launch

I’m a complete beginner in the hi-fi world, but for my 20th birthday I really wanted to treat myself to my first serious system. So I did a ton of research — watched reviews, compared measurements, and gathered as much data as possible before making my choice.

Obviously, this is my first hi-fi system, so I don’t really have a high-end reference point — just the sound from my TV and my phone. But honestly… the difference is light-years apart. The best analogy I can give is that it’s literally like going from 360p to 4K. The change is phenomenal.

And to be honest… I didn’t expect this. At this price point, the performance-to-quality ratio is simply unheard of. From everything I understood from the measurements and reviewers, these speakers clearly compete in a category well above their price.

And once you start listening, it’s immediately obvious: the sound is clean, detailed, natural, and addictive.

For a first hi-fi system, I couldn’t have hoped for better. I’m more than satisfied — for me, they’re simply the best speakers in the world in this price range. It’s just amazing. View attachment 511679View attachment 511680View attachment 511681View attachment 511682
A first proper hifi is a special thing, enjoy listening to lots of music.

FWIW I'd recommend keeping these speakers for as long as they work, even if you upgrade. Your first great speakers are special, and they will always sound great.

Nice first system!!!
Wiim Amp Ultra?

Only comment from me is to get the speakers even wider apart. As wide as you can!

Yes, it’s the WiiM Amp Ultra
Right now my speakers are spaced about 2 meters apart. Do you think I should try placing them even wider?

Thank you, I really appreciate it! I definitely plan to keep them as long as they keep working — they’re already special to me.

will the grills of the C6B also fit on the purify woofer of the A6B/S6B or will there be additional grills for them? Also in white?

I otherwise find the black woofer on the white speaker a bit distracting when I use them for home theatre.

Searched the thread but couldn’t find anything.

It might be possible but given the crenelated surface of the Purifi surrounds…

Yes. I have my speakers about 2.5m apart and if I had the space I would move them even wider. I love a big soundstage.
How far away are you sitting from them?

The next step could be to buy a few additional carpets and do some other room treatment also. It seems to me that, according to the photos, the room acoustics could be a good bit more dry. There are many nice youtube videos out there about this theme: e. g. Look at the videos of new record day from last year, in which the guy tells so much about his journey in room treatment.

By the way, I didn’t read your older posts, so I don’t know - which AsciLab lab speakers are these? They are beautyful! Your amp is also a perfect choice!

I’m sitting about 2.3 m away from my speakers. At most I think I could place them around 2.5 m apart — that’s probably my limit for spacing.

Thanks a lot! They’re the C6B model
And yes, the room definitely lacks carpets right now — that’ll actually be my next purchase to improve the acoustics.

By the way, quick question: since I received the speakers, I’ve been using them for about 8 hours straight. Is it normal for the amplifier to feel hot to the touch? It’s not burning — I can keep my hand on it — just noticeably warm.

The tilt should also be considered, I believe Ascilab recommends 10 degrees beyond the head.

Which you should definitely experiment with when you move the wider apart. The listening window response on these is superb so you probably want to listening at or near on-axis.

Yes, that is normal. Class D amps will run cooler but even those can get warm in extended playback. If you can't touch the case, then that is an issue.
