AsciLab speakers are about to launch

@AsciLab Any thoughts on producing subwoofer with “Best performance in its price range, lowest price for its performance.” ? I will probably want something down the line to pair with my newly ordered c6b's!

Not gonna lie, as a C6B enjoyer for the past month or two, the announcements and info drops over the past couple of weeks have gotten me thinking a lot about re-architecting my home theater solution entirely which I had capped at 5.1 for the longest time. Long story short, the MiniDSP Tide16 looks quite temping (waiting for the inevitable review) and I'm a bit OCD in wanting to use as many of the plugs as possible offered on any piece of audio equipment, so now I'm thinking of adding the C8T towers to my setup given the amazing data that was posted mere days before the Tide16 announcement.

I was already in the market for the center channel speaker that Ascilab is targeting for ~summer of this year, but the low freq THD performance of the C8T towers then got me itching to upgrade the subwoofer, and since Dirac ART was now in the picture, why not get two of them to take better advantage?? Then of course I gotta throw in a 8ch Hypex amp and that would get me to a working 7.2 solution. Oh, should also complete the corner bass trap set I have too while we're at it.

I should have picked a cheaper hobby... Then again, always willing to pay for good engineering solutions backed by science!
same here. For me, the Tide16 (or the Hyperion DPR-16) have led me to rethink my architecture. I want to have one pure stereo listening path (digital only to my C8C+BX8C) and the other will be a multichannel set-up feeding the C8C+BX8C in analog with two C6B surrounds in the back and front center later on.
Exciting times.

Dear AsciLab Team,

I am writing to you today because I am honestly quite desperate.

I initially ordered the C6B in Black through Audiophonics in early January. Unfortunately, the delivery was postponed to late February, then late March. I eventually decided to cancel my order to buy directly from your website.

I have been checking your site constantly, and I saw that Black C6B stock was finally available 2 days ago! I rushed to order today, but they are already sold out again... only one White unit remains.

To be honest, I am so excited because this will be my very first Hi-Fi system. Currently, I am only using my TV speakers, and I can't wait any longer to finally have real sound at home! I have researched as much as possible to make the best choice, accumulating a maximum of data. From everything I've seen and understood, your work is just incredible.

To give me some hope, could you please tell me when the next restock for the Black C6B is planned? I really don't want to miss it this time.

Thank you for your help and for making such amazing speakers.

Best regards,
I stand to be corrected, but I think it's the case that anyone who has a regional distributor has to buy from them and cannot order directly from AsciLab. So if you're in the EU that's Audiophonics.

Except he already tried that route AND a quick check of Audiophonics does not indicate any AsciLab offerings.

P.S. Audiophonics site had different links for speakers and loudspeakers. Found AsciLab under loudspeakers.

I'm not disputing what he's already tried, merely pointing out that cancelling his legitimate order with Audiophonics and then trying to place an online order direct with AsciLab, circumnavigating the distribution dealer network, is unlikely to bear fruit.

Perhaps, but depends on dealer relationship. Guess will have to see how @AsciLab handles.

Maybe they're filtering results based on your location. From here (uk) https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/search?search_query=ascilab gets me 34 matches from replacement grilles through the speakers we've seen tested so far and up to the C8C/BX8C combo. They're listed as 'available on order' though, so no sign of how long it'll take.

"Actually, I live in Switzerland, so I have to pay Swiss VAT anyway. Ordering directly from AsciLab still ends up being 250 CHF cheaper for me than going through Audiophonics. That’s why the direct route makes the most sense for my budget."

Honestly, trying to order these speakers has been a real headache and a total nightmare. If AsciLab gets stock back before Audiophonics (who are expecting arrivals on March 6th and 13th), I will definitely try to order directly from AsciLab since they ship to Switzerland. I just want to finally get my hands on them!

Getting these speakers is turning into a total nightmare. Has anyone here actually managed to see the C6B or F6B in stock and successfully placed an order recently, or am I just incredibly unlucky? I feel like they vanish instantly!

It's so frustrating. I have the budget, I’m ready to buy, but I just can’t place the order. I could go for another brand or model, but that wouldn't be smart—for me, it’s AsciLab or nothing. This is going to be my first real Hi-Fi system, and for now, I’m stuck listening to my old TV speakers. The wait is killing me!

I think we could benefit from some clarification from Ascilab.

Their official website says "For Europe, Taiwan, the UK, and the US, please contact your local dealers.."

Obviously countries like Switzerland, Norway and a few others are not part of the European Union but are part of the European continent, or "Europe". You could say Audiophonics is the official dealer for "Europe" but the UK is also part of Europe in this case, and Audiophonics aren't the dealer for UK.

So it would be good to which which countries Audiophonics is the dealer for, especially for countries outside the EU but still part of Europe.

There's probably a single order list at Audiophonics, and you get your speakers from them when they have received your speaker from Ascilab. Meaning it proceeds on the first ordered first served basis. No big secret there.

With Switzerland maybe being a special case, you should only have cancelled your order from Audiophonics when/if the order from Ascilab was confirmed. As it stand your best bet is to ask Audiophonics if you can have your place in the waiting list back or hope the number of C6Bs on their next shipment exceeds the number people have ordered from them.

Thanks for the feedback. As a Swiss resident, ordering from the EU (Audiophonics) means paying EU prices + Swiss customs/VAT, which makes it much more expensive than ordering directly from AsciLab. I'm really hoping for a clarification because for us in Switzerland, the 'local dealer' situation is always a headache. I’ll keep an eye on the stock and hope for the best!"

Fair do's, if you're in Switzerland and therefore outside of the EU, direct from AsciLabs is the way to go. Just need to be quick on the trigger :)

I’m in Switzerland. It’s not EU. As simple as that - I don’t understand the mental contorsions. Yes you can say it’s the same continent, but a dealer serving EU doesn’t serve Switzerland automatically in most cases. I ordered on the site directly - easy peasy.

And contact they have. I get a ton inquiries from people who want to buy but I have no idea when we can have anything to sell other than our incoming F6B/F6Bs. Meanwhile they have stock at their own site which is putting us in a very awkward situation with these potential buyers.

FYI the above order for F6B/F6Bs took 6+ months to get here!!!

Whatever frustrations member above has you can multiply by 100 for me!

To be clear, this won't just be my first 'serious' system—it will be my first audio system, period. Going from basic TV speakers to something as high-end as the C6B or F6B is a massive jump, and I've done all my homework to make sure this is the right choice. I'm ready to pull the trigger, I just need the stars and the stock to align!

Audiophonics uses a sliding time target that I figure is at least half guesswork. :p

To be honest, I've seen the same type of scenario repeat on many products from new companies who need to balance hype and sustainable growth.

On the matter stock, it should be explained that each region has their own waiting list that is tied to that of their dealer. It happens that for for parts of the world Ascilab is their own dealer.

Is the waitlist thread in the Tested Audio forum the right place to reserve one of the incoming F6Bs for the US?
