AsciLab speakers are about to launch

THe BX8C is the dedicated sub-module for C8C, you can still connect additional ordinary subwoofers .

I think that for regular subwoofers that aren't the associated bass stand, you would use the presets 1 or 2. The crossover would be handled by something other than the C8C.

As long as the crossover is below 100 Hz and it doesn't affect anything above, this shouldn't affect the generation of the cardioid pattern.

That output is only for the BX8C, not for any other device. @AsciLab can correct me if I am wrong here.

Edit: I defer to Keith.
I may be corrected, but I assume we deal here with unmodified Hypex plateamps, and how to connect and/or daisy-chaine them can be found in the respective manual (of any FAXXX, with exception of the FAXX1 for woofers).

Forgive my ignorance, I ordered both modules. Do I have to use p3 to make the lower module work? Or can p1 and p2 also be selected, while still allowing the lower module to work? Sorry.

Asci will confirm buy typically only preset can be selected.

P3 will set cossover and output for C8C and send appropriate signal from output channel to BX8C.
The BX8C will then have its own P1-3 settings on its plate amp for various bass settings

But does that mean that you won't be able to choose between minimum and linear phase if you have the bass modules?

You can probably access via Hypex’s software,

C8C+BX8C measures better
I was thinking C8C alone measures better! More even frequency response, better DI, better contour plots, lower distortion. Cheaper as well.
For the C8C, by some degree, it measures better, but not by a large amount, and there are some aspects to the measurements where I think the Buchardt measures as good or better.

Besides, it also costs almost the same as the C8C alone, C8C+B8XC is much pricier.

For example, I don't know which vertical directivity would sound better.

Come to think of it C8C and A700 are more similar that it would seem at first glance, not saying they are very similar, but they share some things that aren't obvious when just looking at them.

Volume is about 50L for both.
6050€ vs 5800€
for subwoofers 4x6" for A700 vs 2x8" for C8C, emissive surface is not that far off.

That doesn't seem very convenient if you just want to switch between listening and watching TV if the extra latency is causing problems.

Well, probably not the speakers for you then if you want that kind of functionality.

Actually, not sure what speakers would meet your needs.....
You seem to criticise every aspect lol
What other speakers offer to switch between minimum and linear phase?
