AsciLab speakers are about to launch

The Genelec stands are robust and can take heavier weight - the 8361a is 32kg. Also height adjustable and have hidden cable management within the stand.

The S360 plate would work in terms of size for the C8C.

Are there going to be any more bookshelf speakers.
Apart from the s6b.
Passive or active.

Probably not any time soon. It seems like they are looking to finish the tower then the Purifi cardioids first. From their current pace, I wouldn't expect something other than the previously mentioned speakers before about a year.

There were plans to fill up the cardioid line from the bottom, so more bookshelves, but no one but Ascilab knows the state of those plans.

You mean in US? If so, our shipment is arriving end of this month. It will then take a week to clear customs, etc. So first week of February.
Will you be PMing the people who expressed interest/reservation when they arrive?

@AsciLab do you maybe have an update as to when the C8C will start shipping ? thank you
I believe Asci are aiming for the second half of next month for the C8C, with the BX8C following on.

Yep, got the email.
C8C mid Feb
BX8C April

Was going to wait to set up together if 1 month delivery gap, but now I think I will come up with a stand solution for the C8C in the interim

We are pleased to share the measurement data of C8T, AsciLab’s first tower loudspeaker.

The results are outstanding and well worth the wait.

We are especially pleased that the performance fully lives up to AsciLab’s motto:
“Best performance in its price range, lowest price for its performance.”

CEA2034 - AsciLab C8T.png

It shows a flat and smooth frequency response, along with an excellent directivity index (DI).

SPL Horizontal - AsciLab C8T.png
SPL Vertical - AsciLab C8T.png

It also shows very uniform behavior in the vertical response.

In addition to its excellent horizontal directivity, the vertical directivity also shows an unusually uniform behavior rarely seen in tower loudspeakers.

It shows excellent suppression of THD not only at 86 dB but also at 96 dB.

MD is also very well controlled.

Shipping of the C8C will begin in early February. Customers whose orders are expected to ship later have been notified separately by email.

Another great product from you guys- congrats!

Is that a cardioid? Looks like directivity mostly holds to ~200Hz??
It has some of cardioid pattern down to low midrange without the cardioid slot that occurs distortion. Not fully cardioid like C8C/BX8C but it is quite great achievement as a passive speaker.

I had to do a double take, this is probably the only passive speaker I've seen that might not need a sub if you are that good down to ~28Hz.

How? Too narrow to be waveguide in mids.

Thank for your kind words.
The actual bass extension is more close to Sound Power. Due to its different plane placement of woofer and midwoofer, on-axis at 2m looks a bit less bass. But actually the sound power response more fits to its band width Then the -10dB becomes 25Hz. Furthermore, the lower the frequency means the more in room gain. Yes. It will easy to extent down to 28Hz in room.
