AsciLab speakers are about to launch

You can't pre-order on Ascilab directly as a citizen from Europe, you have to buy from Audiophonics.

Reading the last pages of thread shows really the douchebag behaviour of people. Ascilab is without a doubt one of the most transparent, technology driven, finest measuring and not to forget just since last year upcoming speaker manufacturer. And despite the fact, that they show the whole industry how to design the best measured Cardioid speaker ever for around 1/3 of comparing models, you are discussing about 1k "too high" price offered by Audiophonics or that Ascilab ended 2(!) day earlier (tbh, relatively abrupt) the Pre-Order Sale on their site. Most manufacturer wouldn't even offer a pre order sale netiher write continously, every day, in an audio forum to stay in touch with their customer.
Just annoying but thumbs up for the nerves of Jinsung.
Does Audiophonics give more information related to deliveries (mainly if you're in the next batch based on your order) if I were to mail them ?
I dont know if its common practice since I never order out of stock items.
Be lying if I wasnt curious about when my order could be completed haha (sorry also discussing deliveries, I'm sure lot of people ask about that with the current stocks).

The Hypex amps can be adjusted via the amps/dsp software typically the manufacturer allows the user some access but not to everything.
Not quite the same but I remember sending a pair of Kii/BXT all the way to the Scottish Islands, the potential customer told me they gave him an instant headache.
When the speakers retuned I found that the customer had effectively turned the bass completely ‘off’.

Not sure if you were discussing that the price on audiophonics is higher than through ascilab, but isnt it just better to buy from a local retailer if you need easy returns/warranty/repair ? Shipping to Korea sounds like a nightmare unless there is something I dont know.

@AsciLab: Additional question: You are using the Hypex Fusion FA253 plate amp for the C8C, correct? Will this plate amp still use the NC252MP amp module or the new NCx252MP?

Woofer/Radiator surround breaks in in the first few hours of use, as a result Fs drops slightly.

It's a fairly well documented effect.
Thanks for the brief explanation, really interesting stuff!

Though I have not found comparative measurements, I found some further information: https://www.boomboxery.com/forum/th...f-your-boombox-woofers-break-in-method.27827/

Support for BACCH plugins is also not planned at this time.
There might be an interesting option for future plannings:

Two things I've noticed and a question for curiosity.

First the question, I wonder why the crossover point for the tweeter was set at 1.2 kHz rather than 1.1 or 1.0 kHz as other Ascilab models using the same tweeter.

Now, the two things I've noticed.

The directivity pattern was changed/refined between the C8C prototype back when it was still named the C6C and now. Slightly narrower and more constant now, but with a little more radiating backwards.

Bass distortion is mostly H2.

Active crossovers and backing off a bit from LF distortion?

Thanks, yes - saw that. Should have worded my query better, but what is the upper frequency limit of the cardioid range? Is it different for the C8C alone compared to the C8C/BX8C combo?
Are you asking from an academical standpoint or from a practical one?

For the latter, it doesn't really matter, high enough to meet the woofer narrowing.

@AsciLab
is there a recommendation from Ascilab on how best to set up the C8C speakers in the living room (distance to the front and side wall), toe in the speakers, or not?
Should you put the C8C as close to the front wall as the Dutch Dutch 8C (10 cm)?

Is there an instruction manual for C8C?

From their answers (and memory) 0.5m to side walls and 10cm from the front wall (same as D&D). 10 degree toe-out from on axis.

Manual in preparation, hopefully finished within two weeks.

And welcome to ASR.

My previous post about side wall distances was wrong. I've amended it. Sorry about that.

Thinking to pair the upcoming AsciLabs S6Cs with the upcoming SVS SB3000/R subs.
Any thoughts?
