AsciLab speakers are about to launch

It will just be a standard IEC ( kettle lead) socket so anything UK certified will be fine.
To echo Amir I believe AsciLab have only closed pre-orders from their own site.
Keith

Surely they have a limited production run which will affect everyone, wherever you try to order from?

Do you get a fixed allocation?

Placed the order with audiophonics January 2nd. Money reached them today and they informed me by mail that items are not in stock (expected) and availability is estimated "20 - 27 février".

No, no allocation Asci asked us for an approximate number, that’s all.

You know how when you have a meeting set at a certain time with a French team member you need to add 15mn until they join the call?
This is the translation to audio gear deliveries :p

They have not shared their capabilities. Once we all put in our orders come the 9th, then we will get feedback on where we stand.

I wanted to be sure about the weight of the speaker alone for the capability needed for the speaker stand.

The weight of packaging is secondary.
The net weight of the C8C alone, excluding packaging, is 25 kg.

- Pricing issues with your distributor Audiophonics
- Final set of measurements not available during pre-ordering phase (at least not submitted to spinorama)
- Pre-ordering phase finished early without any previous "last call" opportunity
  • In the case of Audiophonics, a pricing calculation error was identified and has since been corrected.
  • Not only the data provided via Spinorama, but all other relevant measurement data had already been fully disclosed in advance.

  • We sincerely apologize for not informing everyone in advance that the pre-order could end early once the prepared allocation was sold out. While we believed we had prepared a sufficient quantity, this ultimately was not the case.

The pre-order on ascilab.com, which was previously closed early, has been reinstated and will now continue as originally planned until January 9.
Please note that the delivery date has not yet been finalized.

Very disappointed that pre-orders have been closed early. @AsciLab Are we able to take advantage of the deal for a later delivery date?
You can place an order on ascilab.com.

Agree - Seems we are being let alone in the cold after we had to undergo all the saga with the pricing adjustment, due to Dollar Euro conversion issues with the EU distributor. Please reconsider to open up the pre-order window as agreed prior to the 9th of Jan to allow potential future customers to sign up to the pre-order incentives.
Yes, as planned, the pre-order has been reopened and will remain open until January 9.

That's called "le quart d'heure de politesse" since it is very rude to arrive when the host is not ready. Obviously works only in France since in other countries the host is not expecting people to arrive 15 mn late and as a consequence organizes to be ready on time.

"le quart d'heure de politesse" - j't'en foutrais moi :D only issue is French do this when dealing with Germans or Swiss people too. Always works swimmingly.

Anyways, kudos to @AsciLab for reopening their order book. There's depth right there!

According to Google AI summary, the rule only applies to social events and is not acceptable for a business meetings!

Any real benefit buying directly from AsciLab vs using a retailer in your area (Europe in my case) ?

Gemini missed the part that since HR tell employees that they are part of a big family, all business meetings should be considered as social events...
Anyhow, sorry for the OT

You can't pre-order on Ascilab directly as a citizen from Europe, you have to buy from Audiophonics.

Reading the last pages of thread shows really the douchebag behaviour of people. Ascilab is without a doubt one of the most transparent, technology driven, finest measuring and not to forget just since last year upcoming speaker manufacturer. And despite the fact, that they show the whole industry how to design the best measured Cardioid speaker ever for around 1/3 of comparing models, you are discussing about 1k "too high" price offered by Audiophonics or that Ascilab ended 2(!) day earlier (tbh, relatively abrupt) the Pre-Order Sale on their site. Most manufacturer wouldn't even offer a pre order sale netiher write continously, every day, in an audio forum to stay in touch with their customer.
Just annoying but thumbs up for the nerves of Jinsung.

You’re not wrong - the more transparent you are, the more people expect from you. It’s a never ending proposition and then people get upset because you didn’t publish measurements here or there. A bit annoying as you say given what was shared here in the past
