AsciLab speakers are about to launch

When I look at those measurements, I see two superb speakers. On the S6b, maybe you'll hear the wider directivity in the treble if you can still hear that high (I can not), and maybe you might notice slightly higher directivity in the lower midrange. But both have distortion levels approaching inaudibility at all sane playback levels, though the S6b's appear ever so slightly better in the midrange. I think the bass should be better on the A6b if you're not using a sub, which seems optional with either speaker (at least if you're using them to play music) IMHO.

Biggest difference is the price, and the question for me is more like A6b or C8c ?
THank you! Then I think a6b might be it:) Im planning to use it as reference style studio monitor:)

I currently have Visaton studio 1 DIY Kit speaker although it came out not perfect as the carpenter did somehow left the depth of the flush mount for the waveguide 2mm too shallow and original waveguide didnt even fit for that so i had to 3d print and try to somewhat replicate the waveguide
Its quite good and it can play really loud without distortion, i feel like its still lacking something around the crossover frequency. I think the visaton tweeter doesnt really like the 1.6khz as i compared it to one another tweeter (scanspeak clone) the scan speak clone sounds miles better than the visaton one.

But A6B it might be then :) I actually had purifi 6.5inch in my car once upon time and i didnt need subwoofer because they played so cleanly at such insanely high excursions that after one year of playing the glue joints failed and suspension started to crack haha, but thats how unstrained it sounded when playing loud i could not even hear it ripping itself apart :D

Any recommendations or design advice for speaker stands for the Ascilab C8C?

I am thinking of building a DIY version using solid wood construction, with a height of around 80 cm. This should place the tweeter/acoustic axis at ear level (approximately 100-110 cm from the floor) when seated. The top plate would match the base dimensions (254 x 350 mm).

My main concern is stability—it might end up feeling wobbly, given the weight and height.

I have also considered the Northward Acoustics stands (similar to what works well with Kii Threes), but replicating their advanced decoupling and adjustment features seems too complex for a DIY project.

I was mentally ready to push the button for the C8C but will NOT buy from Audiophonics at this price.
The problem is that for us "Europeans" the only distributor is Audiophonics.
This year I plan to upgrade my system and was only hesitating between these speakers and Genelec, but the French distributor solved the problem for me...

Warehousing, back-end systems (ERP software), tech support/service dept. Sales admin person, marketing and website management, etc, etc.
It's just an online store. Thomann also sells online, has thousands of employees, offices, warehouses, and support, and yet has the best prices in Europe.

What's the problem with ordering from Purite Audio, or is that not possible due territorial distributor restrictions?
Purite would likely violate trade agreements and you would have to pay VAT when importing from a non-EU country.

Really worth repeating: Ascilab measures up with much, much more expensive endgame speakers. Their value proposition is astonishing imo.
Everything's fine until you need assistance.
In that case, a single European distributor for a young company can be a problem.

All of the comments expressing concerns have been carefully reviewed, and we fully understand and empathize with them.
Every effort will be made to reach a reasonable and fair compromise. As the New Year holiday period overlaps, this process may take some time.
Our goal remains to create and maintain an environment that upholds our motto:
“Best performance in its price range, lowest price for its performance.”

...Every effort will be made to reach a reasonable and fair compromise...

Being active in a forum like this to promote your own products is one thing, but taking users' (and potential customers', maybe even future partners' ;)) questions and concerns seriously and responding to them is quite another.

So thank you very much.

Yes, import VAT, because the place of delivery is the country of the buyer for private customers.

Then good riddance to the middleman that adds little value, and lots of costs.
Audiophonics are making the products available in the EU and providing after sales support. A service that Ascilab don’t provide. For now we have to assume that Ascilab are supportive of Audiophonic’s commercial strategy.

Vote with your wallets, people of the EU!
Or get a fiend in Switzerland to buy them and try and smuggle them over the border in your car!

Maybe a naive approach but if the stands match the height of the c8c bass extension module?
That’s actually a great idea—making a C8C bass extension 'dummy' that doubles as speaker stands!

Do you know how the C8C connects to the BX8C bass extension module to create a rigid connection? I’d really like to avoid anything wobbly, as I don’t want the speaker to topple over.

I know the Kii Three has a proprietary slot system that locks the bass extension perfectly in place.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Good news! I've contacted Audiophonics about the price and they lowered the price substantially. The C8C is now offered for 5.447 euro. Since I already placed a pre-order they give me a refund. @Ascilabs: thank you for your effort. I can't wait for the speakers to arrive :)

Audiophonics has informed us that the pricing issue was caused by an error during the conversion to euros. The prices have now been corrected.

We would like to thank the Audiophonics team for taking prompt action, and we also appreciate the ASR members who raised these concerns and helped bring the issue to our attention.

Great news, it shows how helpful the forums are.
Thanks everyone for solving this problem so quickly. :)
P.S. Now I will have the dilemma again… :D

You know you want a racetrack coaxial.

Aftermarket Kii Three stands just have a narrow plate on which the speakers are placed. Nothing proprietary here on mine. Don't know about the C8C but I will definitely know as soon as they arrive here together with the bass extension.
