AsciLab speakers are about to launch

My speakers use the same Purifi woofer + PRs, and after 2 years the honeymoon phase should have been over by now. But still every time I sit and listen to them, the bass extension and clarity still amazes me to this day!
Which make/model?

is there any info available on the DAC part of the C8C? I posted an earlier question on the differences between the digital input and the analog tone and I wasn't told there wouldn't be any so forgive this noob question, but how is that possible? I would assume that using an external DAC vs the one from the C8C would create differences in how to speakers perform?
Thanks for enlightening me and Merry Xmas to all those who celebrate it!

Here is the manual for the Hypex FusionAmp line, the specs are on page 16 https://www.hypex.nl/media/df/df/c2/1678368740/Fusion Manual R4.pdf

The THD+N rating is 102.5 for DA, and 100 for AD/DA. Thus there is a meaningless difference whether one skips the reconversion or not. But if you have the option of either, sure you can go pure digital.

thanks!
So if I was to use an external DAC...this means that the ultimate tonal signature (if that even exists for the DAC) is the one within the Hypex anyways? in other words, an external DAC would lose that signature no matter what since it gets an AD followed by DA in the Hypec, is my understanding correct?

Is there a recommended minimum listening distance for the C8C?

It goes without saying that apart from in the home they should make excellent studio monitors. Which (those I’m aware of eg Genelec and Neumann) have a minimum and iirc a maximum listening distance

Could you share a late/ final/ draft specifications list, including/ in particular their maximum spl. To inform a user’s maximum listening distance

C8C : 0.8m minimum, over 1.5m recommended
C8C + BX8C : 1.5m minimum, over 2m recommended

We’ll update that soon.

Do you have minimum distances to the sides?

For side walls and if you have a TV between the speakers.

C8C + BX8C : 1.5m minimum, over 2m recommended.

How do the measurements look from an angle that represents a listening ear height of 95 centimeters above the floor, and 2 meters away from the C8C + BX8C speaker stack?

C8C+BX8C reference point is about 1.1m from the floor. If you listen 2m from the speaker at 0.95m height then the direction degree is about -4~5 deg vertically. It won’t be a problem.

If your DAC has a measurable tonal signature (essentially acting as EQ or other effect) that should be preserved through the ADC, DSP and DACs in the Hypex FusionAmps.

thanks for your answer. I thought that any DAC (in my case I will be using an Eversolo T8 with a Z10 DAC) pre C8C+BX8C would see its characteristics "erased" by the treatment within the C8C. I guess not based on your answer which is good.

Pre-order special pricing for the AsciLab S6B and C8C + BX8C has officially begun.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I've always wondered why speaker manufacturers provide the crossover frequencies for the tweeter/ midrange or midrange/woofer to consumers.

To put it another way, what is the practical significance for a consumer to know the crossover point between the tweeter and the woofer in a two-way speaker? And how should we use this information?

Just one of the technical specifications, no different to specifying the F3, personally I prefer to have the speaker’s specs/measurements.
I no longer can trust manufacturers who don’t provide measurements.
