AsciLab speakers are about to launch

Can you stream directly to this speaker? Any plans for built in room correction? Or, plug ins like Dutch and Dutch has Bacch for their 8c?

Looks very smart, and you can have them in any colour, as long as it's black or white
We are considering adding a satin-finish metallic grey color option.
However, since paint color testing will require a considerable amount of time, the initial sales will be limited to black and white finishes only.

Really considering the white here, is it the same matte white / black as the F6Bs?

Am I right to assume the recommended stand height for the C8C is around 80cm?
For a sofa setup, we recommend a height of 60–70 cm, and for a chair, 80–90 cm.
Of course, this may vary depending on individual environments and preferences.

Direct streaming to the speaker is not supported. An external streaming device must be connected to the C8C via its digital or analog inputs.

Since room correction performance using external solutions such as Dirac ART is already excellent, there are currently no plans to add built-in room correction. However, a basic 9-band parametric EQ is available for user adjustment.

Support for BACCH plugins is also not planned at this time.

Based on the previously released measurements, we have made further adjustments to the system settings to achieve improved performance.
In the vertical directivity, the 100–300 Hz region—where the dispersion had previously been slightly broader—has now been better controlled, resulting in a cleaner and more ideal vertical directivity pattern.

We will share the updated results once they are available, and the previously published measurements will be revised accordingly.

For the C8C or the C8C+BX8C ?

C8C+BX8C is already very good in that range. C8C use some improvement, but the design constraints are higher.

The color tone is the same as the F6Bs. However, the texture will be smoother.
Is the black matte?
I prefer the speakers to disappear in the dark and not reflect the projector's light.

Any recommendations on placement distance from back and side walls? Also recommended listening distance?

Congrats to @AsciLab for this one of a kind speaker!
Looks just great in terms of design, measurements etc!

One question fell more or less immediately in my mind:
Have you thought about double the bass modul and stack the second one on top of the C8C? (Refer to SteinMusic Bobby S-M-L). Would this bring some additional improvements in terms of beamwidth especially in vertical axis?
The max Output of the bass driver would maybe improve as well a bit?

I follow your designs nearly since this thread started and hope your small company is running good in return of your effort!

I think the Genelec Speaker Placement Guide should work for cardioid speaker too. So any distance from 40-60cm should null the FR above the omnidirectional bassfrequence into the cardioid response, so that this "null" is less relevant?
To the more professional User here, is that correct or wrong?

@kharan
For C8C + BX8C.
We found a way to reduce vertical spreading while keeping horizontal directivity. We got good improvements of DI compared to previous version at 200Hz region.

New Klippel measurement will be attached soon.

@CoaxConny
We thought that too. But let’s think about that again after seeing this new result. Do you still want?

@AsciLab would the measurements be similar whether we use the analog inputs vs digital inputs for C8C + BX8C?

Overloading the 100W tweeter amp in the FusionAmp is something I did not see coming.

Is the MTON stimulus something from Klippel or from the IEC spec, or your own? What is it exactly?

Apologies for the amount of questions, but it's almost unseen to have speakers perform to this level with a designer willing to engage. Thank you.

Sorry for last wrong answer. The limitation was input stage, Not the amp. I adjusted the input gain and could go further without limitation.
Here's Short Term compression and Multitone distortion from 96 to 106dB.

Super impressive, congratulations! So you have some place where they can be demo'ed, Seoul maybe?
Another practical question: do both the top and bottom require a separate power cord? How are those 2 amps connected to each other?

Does the C8C, as a cardioid-directional loudspeaker, need to be placed far away from walls?

A friend of mine said that when a cardioid loudspeaker is placed close to a wall or a desk, it will form directional lobes, causing abnormal directivity. According to this view, correct placement would require keeping it more than one meter away from surrounding walls. If that’s the case, cardioid loudspeakers would be almost impossible to use in bedrooms or smaller living rooms.

So does the C8C have this problem?
