Will it come with a remote control? And will it have both a cardioid and a standard mode? Looks like it's cardioid to 150-200 hz standalone, is that correct?
And will all its features work whether input is analog or digital? Finally, are amps off the shelf items that could be replaced in the field (USA) without necessitating shipment back to S. Korea for repair? Also, they look like they dig fairly deep. What's the measured F3, F6, and F10? And could they work on a WISA control hub?
We plan to share detailed information about the C8C and BX8C with our dealers within this week. After that, you should be able to receive more detailed answers.Yes it's planned but so far no clear availability date or definitive pricing ...
If you purchase in the United States, you can buy through TestedAudio.com, and after-sales service will also be provided through them. If a purchase is made in a region without a local dealer and an issue occurs with the amplifier, only the amplifier module will be shipped for replacement. Finally, are amps off the shelf items that could be replaced in the field (USA) without necessitating shipment back to S. Korea for repair?
For the C8C, only a grille for the midrange unit will be available as an option. There will be no grille for the 8.75" woofer drivers. Is there a grill cover for the C8C?
And any indication of whether the S8C will be worth double the cost/measure significantly better for having the purifi drivers?
We recommend keeping the volume of the built-in speaker amplifiers fixed, and instead adjusting the volume at the source device, such as a PC or a streaming player.will there ever be a centralized digital hub with digital volume control like the Kii Control? it is really useful...
Spectacular results!!!The final measurement data for the ASCILAB C8C + BX8C is now available.
The results, achieved in the final month of 2025, meet all of the project’s original performance targets.
These measurements position the C8C + BX8C as a new reference in cardioid loudspeaker design.
Any help in sharing these results with a broader audience would be greatly appreciated.

The speaker shows an exceptionally flat listening window, combined with an unprecedented level of smoothness in the Directivity Index (DI).

The in-room response is extremely smooth, indicating excellent real-world tonal balance.

The beamwidth so clearly showcases the strengths of a cardioid loudspeaker that the resulting control and consistency are, quite simply, sexy.

In our Klippel NFS measurements to date, the C8C + BX8C demonstrates exceptionally low MD, among the lowest we have observed.
Photos and rendered images of the C8C + BX8C will be released soon.
We welcome comparisons with other loudspeakers at any time, and look forward to open discussion.
We could get more tight vertical bass directivity but to keep the mid to bass crossover low, we decided to set that much directivity. It’s already quite great beam width though. Most of vertical reflection error will be disappeared.Vertical cardioid-like bass?![]()
I meant that vertical narrow bass response was already impressive! We could get more tight vertical bass directivity but to keep the mid to bass crossover low, we decided to set that much directivity. It’s already quite great beam width though. Most of vertical reflection error will be disappeared.
Will the C8C lock in to the bass stand, or could it be tilted slightly to ensure staying within the vertical listening window? We could get more tight vertical bass directivity but to keep the mid to bass crossover low, we decided to set that much directivity. I also tested 101dB MTON, but the crest factor of multi-tone signal is too high to get “driver” distortion only. Amplifier limit distortion overwhelmed over the whole range. So I uploaded to the 96dB MD distortion.I meant that it was already impressive!
Since you have measured HD at 101 dB, do you also have compression and MD at 101 dB?
C8C and BX8C will be connected by thick aluminum plate with bolting. If you do not use the plate you can tilt the C8C down, but we don’t recommend. The tweeter point will be at 1.15m from the bottom. If you have enough listening distance, you will be in proper beam range. Will the C8C lock in to the bass stand, or could it be tilted slightly to ensure staying within the vertical listening window?
You mentioned previously there's not a simple crossover, are you able/willing to share more details on that?
What I'm curious about is how the S8C will compare to the C8C + BX8C at 'roughly' the same price. Is there a grill cover for the C8C?
And any indication of whether the S8C will be worth double the cost/measure significantly better for having the purifi drivers?
