AsciLab @ Purité Audio

Really fine measuring loudspeakers do sound extremely similar, the differences apart from the obvious bass extension, max spl are imho purely the tilt of their in room target curves, and with contemporary active designs are easily adjusted.
Far more valid is for potential purchasers to hear the speakers for themselves and make up their own minds.

Desperate evasion doesn’t look good on you.

Agree that some form of measurements to represent how well a speaker deals with SBIR at various wall distances would be useful but a pair of measurements taken in a random living room would be a very poor way of going about it and not at all predictive of behavior elsewhere - there's a reason @amirm and others use the 'predicted in room response' in their reviews and not an actual measurement from their room

Though it does raise a question I've been wondering for a while - how CAN we model this? I'd love for a more standard approach to be taken; for example I got the F6B/S specifically so i could wall mount it to reduce SBIR issues by being as close as possible to the wall; I've assumed that other Ascilab speakers such as the F6B would suffer worse from SBIR purely due to them being physically deeper and so sticking further out from the wall + needing a bit of room for the PR at the back - to see this in some kind of generalized measurement/graph would be very useful

One should choose a speaker for its application, how loud how low, then aesthetics and budget.

Yes I know that guv'nor, but the fact you have such good loudspeakers to sell these days, I was just interested if things had changed as regards how customers choose. What's ideal for you may not be their choice that's all - I swear I'm not baiting here.

In my case and bearing in mind the performance your speaker range can offer, these days, cost and looks would come first I'm afraid as its application would be occasional use (nowadays) in a shared small living room ;) The days of suiting myself with the hobby side of my music enjoyment were over thirty years back - and yes, I'm envious of those who can still choose to suit themselves still and with the money or bank loan to indulge :)

The customer’s new C6B’s had ‘dark metallic’ waveguides, very smart.

Is that Paul Gaugin? May we look forward to some reporting on the impact to loudspeaker performance imparted by different artbooks used as speaker risers? I'd expect Reubens, for example, to be "warm" and "round" while perhaps Picasso would be "sharp", "bright", even "exciting" but possibly "fatiguing" over extended sessions. :p

Cezanné, catalogue raisonné.
His late works are amongst my favourites.

It's the constant hyping to generate sales for your own financial benefits I'm talking about, and you know that.
Curious whether you and all the others piling on @Purité Audio on how many of you plan to buy the speaker at all? Just being keyboard warriors?
And if you are, how many are planning to buy from @Purité Audio ?
Smh on why you think anyone owes you anything. If you're going to buy it from @Purité Audio then set up an appointment and visit him. Otherwise, you're just badgering. You don't owe anyone anything. And, noone owes you a thing either.

He broke his agreement with me over the delivery of the C8C and cancelled the order for which I had already paid months before.

So none of your accusations can apply to me.

Well said, some members do a great job of showing their jealousy, envy and ignorance all in the same post.

Announcing measurements several times and never publishing any ever is the point here. And that is disappointing.
No more, no less.

That’s it. Simple as that.

All the knights in shining armour can go home now.

If Keith is saying that his in-room measurements of the C8C "are the tidiest of any speaker I have had in this room in this orientation, cardioid works!", I find it to be a pretty normal thing as a member of ASR to want to see those measurements, just out of interest, with or without the intent to buy the loudspeakers tomorrow.

Remember that this is ASR, a science-based audio forum where people share loudspeaker measurements all the time.

Can we please include Kii loudspeakers in this comparison? ;)
I haven’t had the Kii/BXT combination here for several years, were they here when you visited?

Actually I did, back in 2017 when they arrived, you weren’t a member of this forum for another eight years.
