AsciLab @ Purité Audio

Your speakers are here and I can dispatch them whenever is convenient, If you really have no-one then perhaps ask the UPS man nicely to help you, the C8Cs aren’t light but not unmanageable approx 28 kilos each.

They are totally unmanageable to me, and that's all that matters.

And I'm not going to rely on the unlikely charitability of a UPS driver.

Stop trying to make this my problem when it is you that has severely let me down.

No friend or neighbour who could help you with the stairs and unpack them?
Keith

I thought the Palmers incredible value, there were just a couple of issues that i need to spend more time investigating.
The C8Cs are amongst the finest speakers I have heard at any price.
Keith
Gotcha, do share you thoughts when you get around to it! Both the A6B and C8C seem pretty intriguing :)

I did write a few thoughts, post 517 on this thread.
‘I have been listening to AsciLab’s C8C and S6B today, in the end I had to use the ‘industry standard’ ask my wife ( and daughter ) to listen while I switched.
I also asked Jinsung what he thought about the two speakers, and … well that are both fabulous loudspeakers.
The C8C has perhaps better imaging and depth and headroom, voices for example are thrown into really sharp relief.
Jinsung says this is because of its exceptionally well controlled directivity, particularly narrow vertical band width reducing floor and ceiling bounce, he is right when he says the C8C is divided from the room.
The SB6 is a simply gorgeous listen, voices and tonality are perhaps even more beautiful , perhaps even more transparent but there is a bit more room interaction.
Perhaps that’s why Jinsung and Changyeul decided to call the C8C a ‘monitor’.
Whatever you call them these are two of the finest loudspeakers I have ever heard.’
Keith

Sure, I saw that, I meant the direct comparison to the Orbits you mentioned.

Sorry understood, there were just a couple of issues with the Palmers, maybe a slight softening of the sound and a slightly ‘thuddy’ bass which none of the other speakers here exhibited even when positioned in exactly the same position.
I need to look into that further, I even compared just one speaker which was interesting, I thought I perceived a deeper soundstage with the C8Cs as a pair but that was diminished somewhat listening to only one channel.
The Palmers don't do a lot wrong, keep relatively near-field a bit of EQ, tremendous value.

That's exactly my impression as well. I think we discussed it briefly both here and on GS, but I didn't want to go into too much detail so as to be fair towards the Orbits since I wasn't sure what was going on, but softness is pretty much how I'd describe what I heard and it was further supported by my in room measurements.

@Purité Audio @Grimoire Sorry to hear about your delivery issues, surely there are companies that do deliveries to your room of choice that all furniture store use. It might take some more time to arrange, but at least it would solve both your issues.

Yes, there are plenty of them, as I have previously pointed out to Keith. It's getting him to do anything about it that is the problem, and he's had months to sort it out.

But thanks for your concern.

K yes Peter gave me the names of two companies, who deliver, install, remove the old furniture/packaging etc.
I wrote and telephoned both , so far neither have contacted me further.

Sorry to hear about that, I wish you the best of luck.

So why haven't you contacted any others? I told you that a simple Google search would show a plethora of them. But you just went silent on me. And why didn't you organise all this, or at least put out feelers, as soon as you had my money?

@Purité Audio the advantage of the dealer over online purchase is the service you provide. Have seen you help out numerous people over the years!

Its not hard to book a furniture removalist in the UK. I did it online from Australia! for a deceased relative estate in London. You can make it happen if you want to...

Delivery issue hopefully sorted.
Just to add we know have every AsciLab loudspeaker design available to audition
Including the Purifi based A6B and S6B and of course the active cardioid C8C.
Keith

I really wish we had a showroom in Germany.....
I believe even today when direct selling ubiquitous that an actual showroom can still be valuablel, obviously it is better to evaluate loudspeakers in your own space, but comparing at a retailer may help you to at least separate the possibles and probables.
And it is a really interesting time to be a retailer, AsciLab, Palmer, First Audio two ( three if you count Palmer’s ‘orbit’ as new) brand manufacturers producing outstanding designs which are not extortionate.

Not so fast!

I have just found out that your supposed solution involves me waiting a FURTHER eighteen days, more than two-and-a-half weeks from now!

I don't know how you thought that that could possibly be acceptable. I was the first to order so should have been the first to receive.

Just book the delivery online with a courier that provides room of choice delivery. A simple thing, surely.

Or is there something that you are trying to hide? It's certainly beginning to look that way...

@AsciLab What do you think of the way that I'm continuing to be treated by your UK dealer?

While I get what you are trying to do, in my opinion such public shaming should really be a last resort as it is extremely heavy handed.

If I'm understanding you, you aren't worried about not getting your speakers, just not in an appropriate time frame. I get that you deserve to have your product as quickly as possible, but again public shaming is a very bold action. Or maybe I'm just missing something.

In any case I hope that you get your speakers soon.
