AsciLAB @ Purité Audio

55.000$ VAT excluded, for the top of the range?
Basically like a pair of 8381s?
Is the catalogue price per speaker or per pair?\
Edit: seconds behind- ok, per pair. Seems like a winner
If ASciLabs ship DownUnder I'll get a pair of the S6Cs and BEMs. Fantastic!

I have the prices for the three initially available designs C6B/F6B and F6Bs and they are per pair and exactly match the prices on the PDF.
So per pair,
Keith

I have updated the Ascilab product page on the PA website with some U.k. prices for the initial three models, C6B,F6B and F6BS are prices are per pair and include vat and delivery.
It’s been a bit of a wait, which is not in the least unusual but good things are worth waiting for.
I wish Ascilab every success.

Keith

I hope so too!
Keith

So now I am confused. Is there still going to be an A6B passive, and is it scheduled for release this year, and is it still going to be priced at $2900/pr?

I believe Asci decided to go all Purifi and change the designation to the S6B which initially is active and due for release in a month or two.

I'm a bit puzzled about the grilles...

From the document above it seems as though the grilles are optional on the C6B. Are the grilles removable? Is the trim ring always present behind the grille or is it an either/or?

On the F6B and F6Bs it seems that you always get a grille. Again, is this removable? If so, are there images that show how these models look without the grilles?

The grill just pops on, there is a choice of grill and waveguide colour , if you scroll down the ‘product lineup’ you can see all the colour options.

Thanks for the reply. All good for the C6B but I can't seem to find any images of the F6B and F6Bs without their grilles.

Ahh, ok, I see that here but I don't think it's active? Looks amazing, can't wait to see Klippel with the Purifi tweeter.

F6B has no trim ring. Only grill. You can take apart it but we don’t recommend it. Detachability is for troubleshooting.

C6B basically has trim ring. Grill is additional option. And you can detach the trim ring and put the grill on. They are attached by magnet.

Was C6C updated with bigger side woofers? Old pictures show four 6" woofers, two front, two side; but the PDF says 2x8.75" subwoofers.

Yes. For more bass capability, C6C side woofers are changed.

Very nice, since you are calling the side woofers subwoofer, does that mean that the front woofer produce very little low bass (maybe high pass at 80 Hz?) and that by limiting the very low frequency output of the front woofers, IMD will be lower like in a normal three way?

I am really impatient to see the new measurements. Though F6C and C5C are very interesting too, and perhaps more my price range.

Yes it might be.
Front woofer produce less bass than previous prototype. Then it makes less IMD.
Previous model was 2.5 way. For this changed model will be more like 3 way.

Very clever thinking, if I understand correctly side woofers produce the cardioid pattern above a certain frequency and act as a subwoofer below.

Yes. Side subwoofers produce similar with the side woofers of previous model.
