What's the main advantage of speakers with Cardiod? Will it work in normal rooms?

That is exactly my experience, and the improvement is reflected in the in-room measurements between cardioid and non cardioid designs. It will work in normal room, and the speakers will be less affected by the acoustics of the room. Typical differences in sound; I usually say that you more of the room acoustics that are actually on the recording, and less of your own room. Translates to better soundstage and "larger" sound. Also often clearer / less muddled as you have less reflections bouncing around.
That bottom speaker looks perfect for the UK market, should sell bucket loads .
I would be very interested in a reference to such a measurement comparison! That is exactly my experience, and the improvement is reflected in the in-room measurements between cardioid and non cardioid designs.

Here's a post summarizing measurements on my room, 8351B vs D&D 8C at ~4.5m. you can scan the thread for the pics of my (very reverberant) room and the original mdat'sI'm interested in the actual in room measurements compsring cardioid and non cardioid from similar models.
Oh dang, I forgot, it would have been interesting to do a shoot out between the ascilab, the Revel M106, the Fidelia DIY kit, and the Philarmonic Mini Monitor. All four very competent design with attention paid to dispersion and neutrality bu different end goals. What are Ascilabs’ C6B( spec and measurements below ) natural competitors?
We have had Kef’s LS50 here both passive and wireless I could get another pair they have a similar retail price.
From memory they just didn’t have the same weight or punch as the C6Bs, SCM19s over twice the price?
What other measurement led two ways are out there?
