@SCPB1967 how does your LA90D get on with the C6B, given their low sensitivity?

Comparing the C6B with the A6B, the main difference seems to be low end extension. Would adding a sub to the C6B get them close to the A6B, or am I missing something important in the data.

Finally @AsciLab what about speaker stands. Are you making any, or have any recommendations?
Sorry WeekendWarrior I'd not seen your question.

AsciLab have as usual been great in responding.

In my case the LA90d is great.
I'm sat in roughly a 2 metre triangle & listen across the (18 m2) room.

Generally peaks are 70dB-75dB.
I think the LA90d required 2 volt for full output at high gain.

If my dodgy maths are correct my Topping E70 DAC would output 2 volt with a volume setting of -6.5dB (ish) with a full 0dB input.

It's generally at -17dB with louder mastered recordings but can be -7dB with the quieter ones to.

Feel free to correct my math & I hope this helps.

Apologies... My math are ok (I think) but my memory is dodgy .
The -17dB & -7dB are on low gain.

That's good to know. I was worried that the LA90D wouldn't have enough output to drive them.

Erin has done a video on how much amp power is needed, it's an easy watch. By his method I'd need about 50 watts to get 85dB peak music levels at 2.5 metres from the C6B. For your case, you'd only need 5 watts, assuming I've done it correctly. Amir's review of the LA90D indicated it could generate 70 watts so you are well within amps capability, whereas I'd be pushing it a little harder, although I do have two powered subs to do some of the heavy lifting.

I had thought of the A6B, but then I'd need to get a more powerful amp so probably ruled that out.

Just waiting for @Purité Audio to get some in stock

I now have my C6B in my living room under my lg oled powered by the new Wiim Amp Ultra, crossed to a psa tv2410 subwoofer at 100hz and it gets loud enough easy, I watch action movies at volume level 45. any louder and my neighbors might bang on the wall.. I have the wiim room correction in use.
edit: I sit about 9 or 10 feet from the speakers

You're welcome...

Have watched Erin vid & it's seems like a good guide.

I too will be trying the A6B with the same LA90d & E70.

I'll hopefully post my impressions if it helps anyone.

1590€/pair @ audiophonics for the C6B's, more expensive than i expected...

That is more expensive color option with VAT.
Their price is almost same with our international sales price.

My bad, the black and white colors are 1290€, good price. 300€ for the grey metallic option, that's a lot.

I know it's unrelated, but I just got an incredible custom made subwoofer and using my minidsp flex with dirac with 100hz high/low pass filters with the C6B.. I think this is my endgame near field setup hehe. I can retire my credit card and finally enjoy music ;)

My subwoofer has a matte black finsh. It's way too big to dissapear into the room. In fact, it's pretty much an eyesore. If it had a nice wood veneer, I could at least disquise it as an big end-table. :D

that is one gorgeous box!

I love the approach that Ascilab took with the community and their extraordinary and unique balance of expertise and humility, so I decided to buy a pair of C6B in flat black for my Hong Kong apartment. I currently have Revel F35s in that setup so I can't expect the C6B to surpass them.

However, I'll get a lot of visual space back and the C6B will fit the small apartment much better. I plan to place these on a deep window shelf alongside a flat screen TV and Cambridge Audio Evo100. I'll be sure to take before and after REW measurements and share with this group.

Thank you Ascilab! I can't wait to see them in person after reading about them for so long online!
FYI. For folks thinking to buy, the wait time seems to be about 4-6 weeks currently. Ordered on June 13th and just received an email saying it will ship in 1-2 weeks.

Planning on using subs 80-100Hz. Any reasons to choose C6B over F6B?
