What is the warranty period on the speakers? Are the speakers serviced through the distributor? Will the speakers be repairable after expiration of the warranty period at the owner's expense? Is the warranty transferrable in the event the speaker is sold on the secondary market? Will the distributor be responsible to see speakers purchased used still be repaired by that distributor even though it was not directly purchased by the new owner? And who is responsible for any freight charges for speakers shipped for warranty service?

Hello. Thank you for sharing your situation and sorry for the inconvenience.

Due to the production cycle of two-part matte urethane paint and slight differences in temperature and humidity in the painting environment, the gloss level can vary subtly. The base color itself does not differ, but because of the difference in gloss, the color may appear different depending on the lighting.

I’ll double-check this point with our production manager.

So I had to borrow a big tool to finally get it out. I was stupid enough to use an electrical driver and torque was set too high so when it jammed I did not immediately stop. I do not plan to screw anything in there again so no worries regarding a replacement. One of the grille of the c8c do not fit but I have to have a closer look first.

I have built diy speakers before and tinkered with cars, bikes etc.

Putting the C8C/BX8C together was very simple to me.

If you need to use an electric screwdriver or hammer to get the speakers together please stop, especially if you dont know how to overcome a minor misalignment. The backet is enough to secure them together, and makes it easier to move around if you dont screw together. Its very stable - more so than any stand.

These kind of issues are not unexpected for early adoptors of a new product.

@AsciLab you should make a video of how to put the C8C/BX8C together, clearly the diagram was not enough. Out of curiosity how many C8C/BX8C were in the first batch, are lots of owners having issues putting together?

Conversely, if you want a finished ready to go speaker out of the box, the C8C/BX8C may not be the correct choice for you.

It is within the tolerance. If the center exceeds the tolerance, there must be buzzing sound. And there is also centering guide to prevent that issue at the rear of the waveguide.

Same thing on my C8C, no audible issue.

Why exactly is this "very concerning"?

Other manufacturers have quality issues as well, that is normal. It is the way how to deal with these issues making a difference. And so far - at least in my specific case - both the European distributor Audiophonics and also Ascilab were extremely supportive to answer technical questions and solve issues. Call me a happy customer.

I feel that carrying the burden of assembly to the customers without VERY specific instructions to the last detail will not work, even if the tolerances were near perfect (which at this price point, the traditional price-point entry to high-end audio. where user must feel like a king, it should be) .

Assembling something aligning 8 (?) screws must always start with inserting the screws, doing couple of turns as easy as BY HAND WITHOUT tighten them until the last one has inserted. Then we start tightening them each one a little each time.

If than does not work, the alignment is off and not as intended.

Anything else is an accident waiting to happen, tooling near a nice enclosure like this is not something I would do without measures not to scratch anything.

We (tested audio) provide full support for the products. We contact the company and arrange for parts, help, etc. AsciLab has been exceptionally responsive helping resolve the issues. So far we have avoided having to return any speakers but if that is necessary during warranty period, of course we will pay for it.

They don’t need the screws at all, once the base rectangle , ( which fits snugly into the frame on top of the BX8C) has been attached to the base of the C8C.

Yeah, I have been advocating this approach since I got mine. I put the side screws in on one speaker and when I went to the other it was just as stable without the screws. Perfectly aligned in the bracket/plate and cant move.

The norm in industry is from date of purchase. I have not heard of any company providing a warranty on date of arrival. What difference does a few days make in the context of 3 years?

If the order takes a few months to materialise then it makes quite a difference. Or do you only accept orders when you already have stock?

Am I correct in thinking that P1 is the best for my room/placement? Only the left side in this file, still playing with the right side. Not a lot of difference in FR, but the RT60 decay seems much more tidy. I believe P1 is Max SPL (cardiod to 100Hz) and P3 is cardiod to 40Hz. Distance from back wall to front baffle is about 38cm, and the manual states:

Recommended distance from rear wall to speaker baffle:
● P1: 100 Hz cardioid / <85 cm
● P2: 50 Hz cardioid / <170 cm
● P3: 40 Hz cardioid / <210 cm

I used miniDSP's guide for these measurements, if that matters. I realized after the fact I forgot to disable loudness compensation, so there's about 2-3dB extra bass.

Also in the file are C8C by itself, in the BX8C preset mode, and the BX8C by itself because I was curious how they fit together. 4m distance

Apologies for not providing a detailed assembly guide earlier.
I will first attach the essential assembly precautions.


When power tools such as an impact driver are used, the foam pad fitted for damping can compress, and the holes that join the BX8C and C8C can end up misaligned by about 1–1.5 mm. The aluminium part on the underside of the C8C should be fastened gently by hand: turn each bolt in smoothly, and once the bolt head contacts the frame and resistance begins, add only about half a turn to one full turn from that point — no more than one full turn. For the side screws, light wrist force is enough; if you use a torque wrench keep it under 1 Nm, set any powered driver to its lowest level, and please do not use an impact driver, as it can damage the bolts.


Assembly is easiest with two people — one pressing straight down on the C8C while the other starts the screws. If assembling alone, lay something soft on the floor, turn the stack over, and let the weight of the BX8C compress the pad while you fasten.
