I've checked the added mass on passive radiators in my pair of S6B bookshelf speakers.
Noticed that each speaker has the added mass on passive radiators implemented a bit differently.
Hence I'd like to ask your advice on PRs added mass.

Left vs Right speaker differences:
- each speaker has the add-on weights made of a different alloy
- ferromagnetic plates (Thickness 1mm, Diameter 42mm) vs ALU plates (Thickness 2mm, Diameter 50mm)
- shorter fastening bolt (Length 24mm) vs longer bolt (Length 34mm)
- different combined weight in Left speaker PRs (plates+bolt 119.30g) vs Right speaker PRs (plates+bolt 121.82g)

The measured weight difference is approx 2.5g on the passive radiators, Left vs Right speaker.
I'm going to make the added mass slightly more unified across both the L/R speakers' PRs (in terms of add-on plates, bolts and weight).

Could you please advise on -> What is the correct(designed) added weight per each 8" passive radiator in the S6B bookshelf speaker.

Hello,

The target added mass is 120 g, but deviations within 5% are virtually inconsequential. When the mass of the diaphragm itself is factored in (total ~132 g moving mass), the actual deviation falls within ±1%.

Because the volume required to reach the target weight became too large with the original plates, we switched to 1T (1 mm) thickness discs. Even with the small deviation, both PRs within a pair should have been matched in material and hardware — different materials being used between your L and R is a quality-control miss on our side, and I apologize for that.

If you’d like, please send us a DM and we’ll ship out the updated 1T discs and matching bolts so both speakers are fully consistent.

One more note: the S6B drivers are assembled with a specific torque value that accounts for the reaction force of the internal magnet damping material. For that reason, we recommend not opening the other drivers unless it’s for repair purposes.

Our last shipment was in April. Since then, the war has caused delays in parts procurement, which has pushed back the next shipping schedule. The next shipment is now expected to take place at the end of this month.

Yes, I have an EQ in my Wiim amp, I don't know if it's optimal but my little living room is design all-in-wall

I will replace my diy paralleled full-ranges with F6Bs, depth is 14,5 cm. And I keep my double 10" sealed Peerless.

I'm currently using my C6B laying sideways as a center channel in my little home theatre that is always changing. The waveguide and low tweeter crossover really do great things for speech intelligibility. right now it's a 3.1 system but I'll go back to 5.1 once my next set of speakers arrives =) Hopefully C8C. I have both audyssey and dirac on my receiver to play with. I'm using a 100hz high pass on my 3 lcr speakers right now. Temporary front left/right are Chane 740 horn 2 way bookshelves with a Monolith M10 v2 subwoofer for bass duties. It's already very satisfying with surprising punch and dynamics for such small speakers

How do you bought 3 speakers? I though they only sell it by pairs

Hello. Thank you for sharing your situation and sorry for the inconvenience.

Due to the production cycle of two-part matte urethane paint and slight differences in temperature and humidity in the painting environment, the gloss level can vary subtly. The base color itself does not differ, but because of the difference in gloss, the color may appear different depending on the lighting.

I’ll double-check this point with our production manager.

no offer to correct the paint differences? Is this something everyone needs to be conscerned with. If i buy a pair of the c8c's and the later purchase the base modules should i expect a paint color difference? If so, please let me know so I dont waste my money.
Clearly the rush to get product out seems to have affected the quality of the product

I had a lot of problems connecting C8C and BX8C - the horizontal holes are not aligned. I had to use some strong pliers, rubber hammer etc. In the process I damaged the paint and still failed to use the supplied screws in like 5 out of 8 cases. Eventually used my own thinner screws, it sort of worked, but clearly there are issued with the mechanical details.
