Ascilab Owners – Ask Questions, Share Feedback

Few days ago I noticed on my C6B that one logo sticker was only hanging, I took it off with no effort and was happy to find that there was no glue residue on the speaker (first pic). Since I hate stickers (in general), I thought I could just remove both and enjoy the clean look. The other one was not hanging but it was a bit loose around the edges, you can see how it ended on the second pic. A tiny part of the sticker and solid glue residue remained on the speaker. I could not remove it with isopropyl and did not dare to try more agressive stuff. I put the stickers back with double-sided tape.

It looks the same like nothing happened, but the cheap feeling remained. I believe >1000$ speakers deserve a printed or solid plate logo (if there must be one).

@AsciLab Re: C8C, within HFD are the 3 preset slots the same as the 3 presets in the back of the speaker?

Is there a way to factory reset the C8C on my own?

There is no way to factory reset by user.
We have to do that.

The 3 presets are the same as the rear panel sticker.

@AsciLab, I think you should do something about the glue you are using for magnets (for the rings surrounding the drivers) and logo stickers. There have been at least three people now reporting problems with these things coming loose. Are you using the same glue for other (and maybe more important) parts as well?

I’d agree. That’s not up to scratch for even giveaway speakers.

Sorry for your inconvenient experience.
We’ll find the other way to stick the logo well.

Does anyone know what weights and bolts are in purifi passives? Other speaker weights are missing on the passives:(

Since the front panels are CNC milled anyway, wouldn't it be better to simply recess the logo? This ensures that the logo is always in exactly the same position and can't simply be pulled off. It also looks a bit more premium.

@AsciLab Is this within tolerance? The tweeter appears to be maybe 0.5 mm to 1 mm off. The other tweeter is like that too, but to a lesser extent.

Aside from that, one of the subwoofer is missing its cover trim ring, I'll have to contact Audiophonics.

Sorry, everyone else, I cannot really describe how they sound like. Unless I do it like Amir, the pair of supposedly 75 ohm cable I ordered was a single cable with two RCA connectors on each end.

I’d rather they didn’t. I’m a big fan of non advertising. Not even manufacturers badges.

I'm totally with you. I feel the same way. However, I can also understand the manufactures. In this specific case, I just like the logo. I find it simple and elegant – and it doesn't contain any text. Looks very understated to me.

Sorry, wrong word, I'm talking about a trim ring. I have three trim rings on the side woofers instead of four.
Ah yes. There was production delay on those and being shipped out separately on some units.

It is within the tolerance. If the center exceeds the tolerance, there must be buzzing sound. And there is also centering guide to prevent that issue at the rear of the waveguide.

Understood. I was concerned that the slight misalignment of the tweeter relative to the phase plug might affect the sound. If you confirm this is within tolerance, I trust your judgment. Thank you for the clarification.
