The Mofi’s are £2250, a fairer price comparison would be between the Mofi 8 and the Asci A6b.

I wrote especially "independent of price", so please ignore that. For me the price would be quite similar. But then you may include the A6B also (which is at least 40 % more expensive).

Really a £1100 speaker is going to be the same as a £2250 speaker?

No, I´m just asking for fun -.- "what would you choose" is not that hard question. All I asked was for opinions regarding the preference of the speaker explicitly without taking the price in consideration. But as It seems to bother you a lot: in Germany there will be a minimum surcharge of 19 % to that price and the mofis are sometimes at sale.

C6B or Sourcepoint 8 - what would you choose, independent of the price?
How big of a room, how loud do you want to go, will you be using a subwoofer, are you good at integrating a subwoofer into a system, do you have an amp that can highpass the main speakers?

In all fairness, how much is a good subwoofer? If the person doesn't already have one, they would need one with the A6b, correct?

Yes. It needs a subwoofer if you're looking for a full range listening experience
How much depends on why you're getting that good subwoofer.
If it is to reproduce the lower freqs then I'd say $1k to $1.5k new gets it there comfortably.
If you're addressing the #2 most important issue, the room, then usually 2 or more plus dsp to control them. I just went through this exercise with my full range Salon2. Much more for my complicated room than deep thunderous bass.

I would be interested in the answer to this question also. I can get a pair of used Sourcepoint 8 for almost the same price. Which to choose?
Mofi 8 : F3 52hz, F10 35 Hz
Ascilab C6B : F3 54hz, F10 35 Hz (More smooth response and directivity)

Mofi 8 : Min. Impedance above 50hz 8 Ohms
Ascilab C6B : Min. Impedance above 80hz 2.6 Ohms

For tone, moderate listening level, I will go with Ascilab.
Best will be to personally audition both.

Also the important for audibility multitone distortion of the C6B seems to be a bit lower:

You would also need one with the 8, if we are comparing 8 with C6B?
The Purifi A6B F3 is 35Hz.

Well the F6B gets a nice score with a subwoofer and it is the cheapest speaker. (measured and without EQ)

Also here is a nice soundclip from C6B.v1 with 2 passive smaller radiators in the back.

Let´s assume that bass is not a matter, as the speaker gets high passed anyway.

Could someone please explain why the F6B has a higher score than it's brother C6B? (6.5 vs 5.9)

More data, although I also don't know how to interpret them and answer.

AsciLab C6B
Tonality (Preference) Score is 5.93
Details: NBD: ON 0.348, LW 0.31, SP 0.27, PIR 0.265; SM: SP0.893, PIR0.801; LFQ 0.602, LFX 41Hz

AsciLab F6B
Tonality (Preference) Score is 6.52
Details: NBD: ON 0.271, LW 0.264, SP 0.262, PIR 0.242; SM: SP0.954, PIR0.944; LFQ 0.627, LFX 41Hz

I think the C6B is ascilabs old measurements, they were pretty straight in room. They appears to be a shelf now in the HF, which will score higher. When Erin's measurement of the C6B is uploaded to spinorama, I think the scores will be roughly the same.

That must be it. Just rechecked Erin's measurements compared to the current one on spinorama and it's clear that the former has better linearity.

Presumably C6B should score higher since it has superior bass extension (and is more expensive)
