How far is it recommended to cross this driver?
I see measurements till 800hz, but first break up is 3000+Hz?
Thanks
Tympany recommends it up to the break-up point, that's pushing it. I'd base the crossover point on the off-axis curves and match directivity, so depends on the tweeter. I was going to waveguide-load a Peerless BC25TG15 and see how low I could take it, shooting for around 2K. The waveguide would have been made from air-dry modeling clay, extending the existing throat of the faceplate out to 7" diameter, if I remember, about 3/4" deep. Project has been dropped due to uncertain driver availability.

Thinking about using a F6B for a center channel to pair with some hopefully soon to be restocked C6B. Beyond being quite tall is there any other option? Guess I could wait for the F6C though the price looks to be quite up there in comparison.

Since the F6B and C6B share very similar crossover points and high-frequency characteristics, the F6B can be used as a center channel as long as the height is acceptable. If you typically listen from a single chair or a two-seat sofa, you can also place the speaker horizontally without any issue. Thanks to its excellent vertical directivity, it will still provide great coverage up to about 30 degrees.

Thank you! What about the F6Bs? The isn't quite as good low frequency wise but the little less height is appreciated, I have a very long couch so I need a little more than the vertical directivity can likely supply. Would be paired with a sub as well.

Can I ask you at what frequency it is cut when its sub is in action?
Although it can vary depending on individual room conditions and system setup, we generally recommend setting the crossover point between 50–80 Hz for the F6B and C6B, and between 80–100 Hz for the F6Bs.

@AsciLab I ordered C6B's on Audiophonics when the shipping date said "December 12-19". But today I received an email from them, saying that I can expect the speakers at the end of January... Even though their website says 26 December - 02 January now and the schedule above says "C6B: Scheduled to restock on December 8, 2025".

I already emailed them back with the question how this can be. Do you maybe have some insights from your part? Can't wait to receive them.
To come back to this. The speakers are expected to arrive at my home upcoming Wednesday so even quicker than the initial December 12-19! :D

My wife is very sensitive to tweeters. The Klipsch Reference Premiere I have give her ringing ears as did the KEF R7 and KLH Model 5.

Is this likely to be an issue with these? They seem an amazing value.

Is there a consensus on what would make the best fronts for a home theater/HiFi set up?

Do these dates coincide with Amir offering them via his company in the US?
Some available now in black!

Klipsch is notorious for elevated highs. Just about any speaker will be better in that regard.

But the KEF R7 and KLH Model 5 do not have particularly elevated highs ... they do both have on-axis dips around 2kHz which I suppose could make the 3-4 kHz range sound more pronounced ...

Anyway, what is needed is EQ (even just a treble control) to tailor the sound to @Chancur's wife's taste ...

yeah, ringing ears after listening to klipsch isn't that surprising.

I find myself enjoying lower level listening a lot more with the C6B

Unfortunately i need to come back to this again... Apparently it was only the grills that got delivered. Which make the communication I had with the frenchies weird because they said the grills were expected to be delivered at the end of January...

While I keep emailing with audiophonics: @AsciLab Do you have any idea when C6B speakers are getting supplied to Europe?

Well, I got my C6Bs a few months ago but am still waiting for the grills (I'm in the UK)! Between us we have a complete set, although I think I've got the better outcome.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll think they're worth the wait when you get them.
