Also, the website indicates $725 is the price for a pair—not $545. Effect of tariffs?
No, they added the shipping cost into the price directly

So this speaker or Ascend V2 for medium size room and 200 watt amplification. Room is sort of a hexagon , weird shape.

Debating between this and Philharmonic Ceramic mini or Sierra-1 V2 for bedroom system without sub. Wondering which one will go lower. Not sure if we will get hit with import duties in US.

Does any correspondence have to go through you.
How about diagnosis.
And what role do you take in the 3 year warranty.
When there is an issue first port of call is usually the retailer from whom you purchased the equipment.

Will depend on your preferences for bass.
Personally I cannot do without. That's why I selected the c6b for same application.

Will post results without sub when they've arrived. I suppose it could be enough to go down to 50 hz or so (imo) but I've experienced I like my bass to extend to 30hz. Ymmv

Sorry yes considering F6B & not F6Bs for more low end extension. I am not a big bass head but like to have decent in-room low end extension down to 40Hz range without sub for music.

In a room measuring 10ft × 10ft, the F6B started roll off at 50hz

The price now includes shipping but in respect of tariffs / taxes payable by US consumers:
  • Landed before 9th July: $725 list +extra 10% tariff / tax ($72.50) paid by consumer when it lands.
  • Landed 9th July onwards: $725 list +extra 25% tariff ($181.25) paid by consumer when it lands.
Probably worth US consumers waiting a few weeks (before ordering) to see how the recent decision on blanket tariffs (being illegal) plays out. Might save a chunk of change should the decision be upheld in higher courts.

The ceramic has 5 inch woofer.
Huge difference to 6 inches in terms of area and spl.
How does it compare to the 3way bmr model. Must have lower imd.
yes , i would assume the 6 inch goes deeper/ higher spl , but that ceramic mini has a bump at about 100 hz , so a nice mid bass bump.. the thing i really like about both is the distortion in the mids / highs are low .. that makes for a very transparent presentation.. Dennis Murphy(philharmonic) took my emotiva b1's and worked a similar outcome ( if you look at the b1 distortion it is very good at moderate volume).. so in effect i have a "poor man's" version of his ceramic mini in tonality and clarity (if you moderate the volume knob within reason)

the ceramic mini has nice mid bass .. in a small room they may actually sound like they have "more" bass... but both the others effectively go deeper iirc , so if linear / clean bass notes are essential either of the others may be what you want ... it's a matter of taste... they are all going to be very transparent

As I understand it, none of those tariffs would apply to a $725 order while the de minimis exemption remains in place for non-Chinese origin shipments. It was removed for China (so sub-$800 parcels from China now subject to duty) but for other countries it has been postponed until a TBD date.

The information on this is all so ambiguous and changing daily that I don't feel particularly confident in any specific scenario, but the above observation is my best sense currently.

I think Ascilab should consider sale/shipment of individual speakers in some cases. For example the normal F6B with an $825 total won't benefit from de minimis treatment. Better to order two speakers a couple days apart unless the shipping costs scale very non-linear.
