Floyd Toole even put Revel Salon 2's upside down!

Would these speakers be good for near-field use in a studio, given that the spin on axis has a good response?

for <1m listening distance, you'd still want Coax. At >1m though, the F6Bs should do just fine.

So in my case, would it be a better option to choose a Kali IN8-2nd wave instead of this Ascilab speaker?

I'll soon be building a studio in my new house and I need new speakers for producing and listening to music.
What's your budget?
How close will you sit to the speakers?
Do you need deep bass extension for your genre of music?
Will you add a subwoofer?

(OT, so this really deserves its own thread)

Yes, I think I should start a new thread. Okay, to answer quickly: maximum budget 5k euros. My original idea is to first buy a speakers and then a couple of subwoofers plus some kind of DSP to correct the room acoustics only if it's not built into the speakers. Listening distance is usually 1m to 1.5m. Occasionally it might be more. Room dimensions: 5m long by 4.6m wide by 2.29m high to the ceiling.

Salon 2's what?
Google AI: Both 2s and 2's are acceptable for pluralizing the number 2, though 2s is generally preferred in modern, formal writing. Apostrophes are usually not required to make numbers plural (e.g., 1990s, 2s, 3s), but using 2's is common to avoid confusion.

Relying on AI is not recommended.

Agreed, although in this case it doesn't seem to be terribly off-base. I dislike simply adding an "s" to the end of a model name like "Salon 2" because, if someone wasn't already familiar with it, there would be no way for them to know if it was being pluralized or if the model name was "Salon 2s".

What's the over/under date for me getting a pair of white F6Bs with an orange waveguide? Like next November I think.

Then put "the Salon 2". No need to pluralise and confusion avoided.

Answering the waveguide part, all of the speakers we are ordering come with the same color as their cabinet. The cost of the waveguide to swap is trivial. Problem is that you have to take the woofer out to access it from behind. Currently, we don't want to risk doing this and with it, mess something up. But we can source them for you and have you replace them.

FYI just got a call that the truck with our shipment of F6B/F6Bs will be here tomorrow. We will have to inventory what we have and then I will notify the people on the waitlist. So if you want one, and are not already on the waitlist, please be sure to contact me. If you are willing to wait, our large production order will likely arrive late spring. Hopefully by November, we will have constant stock.

Got it. That does make sense about the waveguide.

They have to match that wallpaper. See what I'm up against?

that's an interesting look....I'm not sure if it's awesome or just "different", but either way it's a discussion starter...i'm leaning towards "awesome"...

It's actually pretty awesome. My partner is good at quirky design. I'm good at filling rooms with speakers.
