Not trying to be funny, but I haven't seen such a speaker ....82db/1w in a 20x25 room....sitting in the far-field? Name drop for me, as this is interesting to me. Maybe the Totem Mani 2 (I'm telling my age now), but those were hard to drive as well.
I presume this question isn't for me to answer?

Anybody really, but if you have some choices - put it out there. As, I've stated - I believe they're objectively fine speakers (happy panther), just wondering would they give up something in dynamics and distortion in the far-field at loud volumes - that's it. I'm in no way downing these wonderful speakers.

Sorry if this has been answered before: Amir says they cost $575 a pair, but the Korean website lists them at $835 including worldwide shipping. Did they ship a huge container to the US and are shipping surface from there for US customers?
That actually sounds correct for the price, around $200 shipping give or take. Erin said around $200 for shipping.

83 db is average in this class, no reason to worry that those won't come loud enough (but support of subwoofer is highly appreciated).

They are a diy two way, Amiga, which is spec'd by the designer at 83 but in reality it's more like 82. The Dayton Opal is even lower.
You're not kidding about the Dayton Opal1 - 78.5dbo_O ....however it does come in at a 8ohm load. It's got a max output of 102db. That's one of the lowest sensitivity measurements I've seen!!! Thanks :)

I don't think the sensitivity is a problem as these speakers begs for being used with subwoofers to do the bass duty :) that would be a great combo
I agree with this statement!

Wondering if they should revert back to add on shipping so de-minimus exemption applies for F6B unless on invoice it clearly states the actual price without shipping costs.
i remember from old days when i bought a watch from US, if invoice does not show item + transport, toll could not estimate the true value of an item.. ymmv

As an OTT (over-the-top) question; I would like to ask a tangential question about an annoying speaker design to @AsciLab:

Q: Why do so many speaker manufacturers insist on recessed binding-posts, which point to the [?] North Star?
View attachment 455488
I don't see any particular benefits of that orientation versus binding posts which are in the 3o'clock (x-axis) plane and are more preferable, especially if recessed. [imo]
Of the 5 sets of speaker pairs spread around the house, 3 of them have visible and excessive cables jotting out the rear, because of such angled posts.
They become a WAF issue!:(
flip it.. the bindinposts i mean.. :)

An easy fix would be to use bare wire instead of banana jacks.

The price Amirm mentioned does not include worldwide shipping. The current listed price reflects the product price plus the average worldwide shipping cost.
The $575 price, which does not include worldwide shipping, is for the F6Bs. With worldwide shipping included, it comes to $725. The $835 price you mentioned is for the F6B model.

Shipping by container can significantly reduce logistics costs, but we currently do not have a dealer in the US. There has been some contact from Europe, and we will do our best to secure a dealer there as soon as possible. However, since dealer margins also need to be considered, the local retail price has not been finalized yet.

Your question is which speaker with low sensitivity can go really loud with low amplification.

That question is not applicable to my comment because I am saying amplification power is no longer an issue and that there is no longer a need to complain about low sensitivity speakers.

Heck, I no longer even look at sensitivity when I buy speakers nor their impedance. I got a dual mono Hypex NCx500, stable at 2 ohms. . .so I couldn't give a damn to be honest. And if it ever does become an issue, which it never will, I'll just get myself a Purifi 1ET9040BA and laugh at any hard to drive speakers. Case close, end of story.

For these speakers, a$600 buckeye will take good care of business.

I gave it a fine due to its 4 ohm rating and having a sensitivity of only 85db! That's going to take quite a bit of amp power to make it sing. However, remember - I only listen in the mid to far field (generally farfied) . I've got the amps to run them - I'm actually considering them for a secondary room....$200 shipping though :(
It's not so bad - they drop to 4ohm - but unlike many nominally 4ohm speakers, we don't see drops down well below 3ohm...

With their minimum at a touch under 4ohm, most (decent) amps will handle it without too much trouble.

My only beef, is my personal preference for wide dispersion designs... but for listening in near field - these really do look lovely.

In my past experiences purchasing bike parts from Europe and shipped into U.S., the shipping costs were included in the value of goods. This is anecdotal data -- I'm no import expert and the rules are often applied inconsistently -- but I don't think separating the shipping costs will help with the de minimis threshold.

What is "post filter feedback" and how do I make sure that my Class D amp has it?

What is "post filter feedback" and how do I make sure that my Class D amp has it?
All Hypex and Purifi amplifiers have it. Desktop budget amps sometimes don't. You can tell that from this graph in my amplifier measurements:

index.php

With post feedback filters, the two graphs would (nearly or completely) land on top of each other. When it is like above, the filter that is required in class D amplifiers is interacting with the speaker, creating load dependent frequency response.

Class AB amps don't have this issue.
