AsciLab F6B Bookshelf Speaker Review

Hi guys. I have read the responses about comparisons between the two but am still a bit confused.

F6B vs C6B. The C6B is in stock but costs about 350 more. F6B not slated for another shipment until late July.

It sounds like the speakers are very similar but the ceramics should give it a slightly brighter more flat response. But the advantage to fiber of the F6B is slightly elevated bass response? Anything else I'm missing? Any other additions you can add for a laymen without providing me reading material? Maybe there is none

I believe you have it opposite. The C6b definitely goes lower. But the F6b has less distortion in the bass freq where it does provide. C6b has the same waveguide as the a6b and s6b which has its own set of advantages. Spl capability is higher on c6b vs. F6b.
I could be wrong but I believe this is accurate from viewing and listening to them.

Armed conflicts? They've been out of stock virtually the entire the time they've existed. They seem to have stock for a couple days every 3-4 months. How do they expect anyone to believe they're not going to disappear after they make a purchase, if that's even possible.

There was a new strategy and plan at the start of this year to get out of this shortage. To wit, we put in a very large order for C6B and then proceeded with other larger orders for the rest of the line. Just when things were looking good, the conflict in middle east started and halted production of essentially entire line. The issue started to resolve itself just a few weeks ago. We will have plenty of C6Bs for the summer but the rest of the line will still be limited. I have talked to the company to make sure we are in a good position come end of summer.

But it is absolute effing BS in the 21 century for anyone to think we as humans can live in an isolated world. The world is inter-connected from corner to corner, from remote villages of remote countries to economic hubs.

One geopolitical event can mess with businesses, economy and personal livelihoods.

I would be very surprised if the differences between the F6B and C6B were anything more than just barely perceptible for the vast majority of listeners at the vast majority of their regular playback loudness.

I went with the C6Bs because I think the white tweeters look really cool

And with a sub and room correction, they are endgame speakers for me.

Speaking with Sungwon ( AsciLab ) just yesterday he said delivery for the majority of models would be two to three weeks, only delay is with the Purfii based models which is a Purifi issue.

I wish there was a better break down of these AsciLab speakers and the differences between them. It's honestly hard to tell what's different besides price with all of these. F6B and C6B look basically identical and they're even the same size.

Also I know ASR is selling some of these as a distributor in NA, does that mean they cannot be ordered direct any more?

Slightly better bass extension and slightly lower distortion, both super designs.

I looked into this and it should be pretty good. It will beat most two way designs because the crossover is low

I have C6B's on my computer desk within 1m of me and they sound fantastic (+subwoofer), I can only image the F6B's do just as well a job!

These have bigger woofers than the Adams, but still don't go as low (Adams hit 50 hz at -3db). They both measure very similarly on the graph. So are the Ascilabs actually going to sound better/different?

I had Adam T5V's and I noticed a good difference in the clarity and soundstage. The AscLab speakers just throw sound so well into a room. It more becomes a size consideration, if you have the room for the full sized bookshelf speakers + Amp or not.

How about strictly in the nearfield? Do the Ascilabs still sound a lot better than the T5Vs? Is the bass more impactful (able to be felt)?

I wouldn't be able to listen to nearly any bookshelf speakers without a subwoofer, so if bass is important to you neither speakers will satisfy you, as the bass is just limited by the speaker size (my subjective opinion).
