I bought them on looks alone - I've used some cheapo target stands I bought a student in the 80s and they have consistently been the most stable I've used as well as the most ugly. If these work, I will buy the OP a lifetime supply of Smarties, though having just read you have to add sand...ffsI have the same stands, just in all black. A couple of tips: fill the back pole with sand and wedge some rubber (or something) between the wood and pole (or it resonate quite loudly around 127hz).

Target were good, although £15, even back then, was quite cheap. Bargain!£15 in 1985. I've tried lots since, even home made and these just work. Extremely rigid but light. I literally bought the AV ones because they aesthetically match my hifi rack.

The simplest I could come up with was to have some custom sized wooden picture frames made for the top and bottom plates. The uprights are made from broom handles. Bonded with PVA glue and sprayed with automotive primer and black spray paint.Maybe someone come up with a simple DIY design for stands?
Nice, flat topped and solid. Perfect for speakers! Those are available in the US also:

Custom Design SQ 404 Speaker Stands - Four Columns in Hardwood or Steel
The SQ 404 speaker stand from Custom Design is comprised of four 2in columns in your choice of steel or hardwood. Steel columns can be filled with our inert filler, allowing the bass response of the speaker to be tuned to its environmentcustomdesign.kemela.com
But at half the price of the speakers themselves, way too rich for my blood. I'll stick with my wooden barstools at the same height (24") and 1/10 the cost ...

Out of curiosity, how much was the FedEx brokerage fee vs the actual tariff/duty charge?Just got a FedEx bill for $99.75 from my 10/25 F6B purchase directly from AsciLab. : (
Sadly yes. And they have ratcheted up the aggravation factor big time. They now even demand traceability of the smelt for any metal used in the speakers! We paid for air shipment, only to have it get stuck for nearly 10 days in customs while FedEx kept threatening to send the whole container back to Korea! Are there still tariffs?
Assuming this isn't satire, how would it be possible to provide that documentation? (Maybe it isn't, which is the point). They now even demand traceability of the smelt for any metal used in the speakers!
It's not just your country that's feeling the impact though, it's the entire world. I k ow this isn't the forum for politics, but it's becoming ridiculous, can we please have our old stable ally back!Sadly yes. And they have ratcheted up the aggravation factor big time. Of course, now we have the massive surcharge due to situation in the Middle East. We decided to pay for air shipment of F6B/F6Bs from Korea. In span of one week, the cost went up another $1,000!
And now we hear the supply chain relying on petrochemicals has dried up, impacting future productions!
Every day I think our government can't do more to stymie our business and they think of something new.![]()
