So, I've had these for since July and I am again not quite happy with the sound and I am pretty sure I know why and it isn't per se Ascilab's fault.

They are quite boomy in my LP shelf near a back wall. All bookshelves I've owned, which isn't more than a handful were, regardless of the apartment/location they were in compare to my main floor-standers that are out in the room a bit. How much baffle step correction are baked in? Were the measurements done with the speakers on stands out in the room? Ostensibly I can correct this in my WIIM Ultra, because they aren't bad, just the tonal balance is way off
Acoustically measure with REW and a microphone, the room gain ( boomy bass) will be immediately obvious, use the ‘EQ’ function of REW to create the requisite filters, tight bass with no boom.

Thank you.
I don't have Facebook. Is there any info out about the C8T? Search didn't find much.

I won't have Faecesbook myself, so it's deeply annoying when manufacturers insist that I do in order to get the latest info etc.
I hear you.

However, often you can still view (some) of facebook as a resource webpage without needing to login/have an account/install app.

I just tried the weblink in a browser whilst not logged in, and via an incognito window, and it still shows the AsciLab Owners page. Just close out of the initial prompt to sign in/up. It will however restrict and pop up again depending how far down you scroll etc. Sometimes that can be worked around by refreshing the page.

Thanks, but I knew that. But I don't want to go anywhere near Faecesbook in the first place, and yet manufacturers and others require that I do. That's a crap way of doing things.

yep, understood. And fair enough :-)

main issue with v3 mono is that it could get fried
Why is there a risk of frying the amps?

I have a pair of V3 monos and was considering Ascilab speakers. Are they not a good match?

Additionally, I was thinking of running a pair of Ascilab speakers off a Wiim Amp Ultra (100 watts). But Amir suggests in his review of these speakers that more than 100 watts would be better. Can anyone please comment on that?

Power needs depend on your room, type of music, how loud you play it, whether you are using a sub, etc etc etc.

That said, my 60W/ch Lyngdorf amp has no issues driving my C6Bs.

I've a pair of AsciLab F6B running from pair of Fosi V3 mono. Using the balanced connections. Room is 3.5x3.5x2.4m
The source probably can put out plenty of voltage. Typical louder end of listening is 85dB A-weighted, and I suspect I'm waaaay lower in the wattage consumed to reach that, but plenty of what I listen to is mastered loud.

The AsciLab are sometimes used full range. but generally xo to subs ~80hz. either way, certainly fine.

I am using 48v power supplies to the Fosi V3 mono - but honestly I reckon I could use the 32V 5A ones I have and would never know the difference - probably well below the V3 mono's power output.

There's no reason to think the V3 mono are not a great "match" for the AsciLab. C6B have pretty low impedance - The F6B slightly less so - but Class D amps should handle that very well.

I reckon you'll be fine on wiim ultra or the Fosi v3 - but as MarkS says, I guess it depends on certain variables and your needs.

The only complication at present might be patience/securing a fulfilled order of AsciLab speakers.

I use a couple of spare barstools for my C6Bs :)

Paraphrasing Abraham Lincoln, a speaker stand's legs should be long enough to reach the floor, and those on my barstools do!

Own make stands. If you're in the uk.

I'm looking for main bookshelf speakers for a system with subwoofer (Kef Kube 12b).
Would you recommend the F6B or F6BS for subwoofer integration? I have a feeling the passive crossover option would make it more difficult vs the sealed design?

the F6B will give you more flexibility WRT crossover frequency due to its deeper bass extension.

if you already know that you'll set the crossover frequency to a point that either version can cover equally well, then going with the F6BS will give you more options for placement and the same sound quality, at a lower price.
